Longley was solid to say the MOST--Bogut is way more talented than Longley.

You don't have to tell me that twice. I'm just saying, that Bogut had no right to go out attacking Luc Longley like he did. Longley won a bunch of championships (Whether it was with Jordan or not, so what?)

Point is, you don't say "Ahhh, I'm superior to Luc" "I'm not gonna comment. I haven't even played my first game. Luc left his footprints in the NBA and I haven't even smelled THOSE yet. So I'm not going to compare myself to anyone at this point. I just want to be just like my idol, Tim Duncan."

But there is a certain amount of respect he deserves. Especially coming from a fellow countryman. Longley put Australia on the NBA map as a matter of fact. He was also a piace to Phil Jackson's system that netted 3 titles.....which Longley then brought back to Australia.

Bynum is only going to be a fringe player for the Lakers this year

Bogut on the other hand, I would not sleep on bogut. for the guys like isiah and what other GM thinks Frye is better than bogut and basically bogut is a ore skilled chris mihm--you know white man cant play stuff, well i think they are in for some shock and awe. Bogut will equal 18 points 10 rebounds this year.

If that's the case Bynum needs to keep his mouth shut. No more self comparisons to Shaq (who he compared himself to and said 'except i can shoot free throws), Kareem etc. He's bringing the thrashing on himself. He's raising the expectations. I know you'd like to keep them low but you and Bynum obviously disagree on his importance to the NBA at this point.

As for Bogut, I don't care what he scores. It will not stop Kobe from posterizing him.....and I'd guess a record 5 times in 2 games. Also, Isiah was moreso endorsing his own player in saying he'd take Frye at one. If asked would the Lakers have taken Frye or Bogut if they had the top pick I'm sure they'd say "we got our guy". Isiah's a smart basketball mind. He knows who is who. You just must, as GM, support your guy no matter what.

I think Bogut was just defensive about being compared to white players, kidna like Bird used to get mad when he was guarded by white players.

July 19th: Frye vs. Bogut...that will be interesting--have they ever faced each other?

I'm rooting for Bynum (Well, not now that he's on the Lakers) and even a little of Bogut, but I am getting fed up with these youngin's challenging some of these stars, superstars and established vets who have marked their places in the league. Vets like Longley, who was solid to say the least. Bogut challenging him and Kobe. Bynum now challenging Shaq. These kids have A LOT to learn and keeping your mouth shut is one of those things that's nescessary sometimes.

We don't have to go off on one of our sociological tangents, but I would say that I understand where in today's world these kids feel the pressure to have to stand their ground with their mouths. After all, the world is one big reality show, no?
