175 mph! please lord, slow this thing down tomorrow and hook it due south i mean at this rate this thing will make a large chunk of texas waste lands perhaps through the middle of the entire mass of state! look at the map--this is the worst storm that has ever been documented right now it is 25-35% bigger than the storm that leveled NO and winds are atleast 25 MPH faster and surging into warmer waters!
It is scary the damn thing is just gonna get bigger and bigger.....they are gonna have to addapt a 6th catagory just to measure this thing. It amazing what nature can do.
This is just the gulf coast.....I pray that the strange things going on down there is just there and just some kind of a fluke and other more intense natural desasters don't occur.
Bush might have to pull out his troops from Iraq just to defend the vulnerable gulf coast. Remember the world hates America. God Bless us.

Really though, we know it's not George Bush. Its a collection of the wealthiest and powerful people who have so much vested interest in the government, that there really is no hope.
The second Republicans attain power, every single environmental standard is thrown out the window. Within the last four years we've withdrawn from every single treaty, and we have turned our backs on the world, for the simple idea that a profit margin is far more than importance of life.
People can continue to talk about G W Bush as a whipping boy, and people can continue to protect him but it doesnt matter. Dick Cheany, Karl Rover, Kenneth Lay, Condaleeza Rice, Dan Quayle, and the other behind the scenes leadership will continue manipulating the world, and just put all the blame on some idiotic lackey.
You want to talk global warming, start considering voting out Republican leadership as a whole. And dont say Democrats are the same, because they are not. Clinton and Gore had policies that would have stabilized our world, but the big dollar sign in the sky won out.
Yeah...HUMANS are just so powerful! Why don't we stand all together and all blow at the same time and push RITA in another direction. Afterall, we control nature? Oh, I am sorry, just the Republicans.

While Im down with bashing greedy republicans, let not forget there have been times in history where killer hurricanes have existed before. WE have built on the coast more and more thus expanding population and structures in the way of these things.
But lets face it, they have happened before in Galvaston and since its been many many years, they become comfortable and think it won't happen again.

how could this all be global warming if these natural disasters are only happening in America so its not that it was just a hot summer and the hurricanes cool it off but you never hear hurricanes from anywhere else

I thought that Tsunami in Phuket was pretty Phuked up myself! Some places get earth quakes and wipe out thousands.

im not so sure that any global warming has to do with these hurricanes. i have kept rading about them, and i believe it has more to do with cylical rotations of where the earth is spinning on it axis. if we look back to 1915 almost 100 years ago and throughout that 15-25 year period, hurricanes were quite vicious--as in 1915 two huge category 4 storms
things that happen with the earth develop over tens-of thousands of years--time that we cannot understand--i dont think there is any phenomona that can material alter mother nature. mother nature will eventually wipe out this civilization and all the crp we put into the air and stole from the ground, but we can easily be tens of thousands of generations away from anything like that. or it could be next week:>)
we need to take better care of emissions and continue to find alternate energy sources, and I think that it should happen in the next 20 years.
the first vide game i had, i had to put a plastic sheet on the tV and follow a black and white dot or play pong--twenty years later it looks like video games are tv shows--internet--wish i had it in HS and college--thats going back to 1990--look at the technology change--some brain from mIT will come up with something--perhaps elephant farts hold the key

Honestly, being that I do not pollute and actually go around time to time picking up garbage, is helping the environment. If everyone else did this, then we would be in better shape, and I even recycle as well. All of the garbage and excess garbage like wrappers, bottles, etc are the reason as to why the earth is becoming polluted and this is why global warming is starting.
Yes, I drive a car, but do not wear leather nor do I support the killings of animals for food, or products, hence I am raw vegan. I rarely get anything wrapped, nor packaged, and I never take baths. Always showers. So I hope I am doing my part. Didn't mean to piss you of Nalod if I did. I rspect you all as people and as Knick fans, so did not mean to upset anyone. It's all opinion, yet fact at the same time.
And as for the Sundance Film Festival response, I hate their movies and would never want to be a part of that film festival. I am more of an underground horror film indie guy. But if one of my horror films filled with gore were picked, then that would be a great thing and a pleasant surpirse.
And George Dubbya is one of the main reasons why we have more deaths from the Hurricane. If it's one person I do not support, it's the worst president we have had in nearly four decades. Way to go Georgie! Fight a war that we created and just want money and oil for. Bring the troops from Iraq to NO to aid these people dying. What a freakin' fool.
