Against the one team I was really scared of in the first place. I would have even been happy against the Red Sox or White Sox, but I knew for quite sometime the Angels were a much better team than us.

I think it's safe to say that A-Rod can't perform under high pressure. What's the answer, though? Should the team trade him (while eating a portion of his salary)? Would we be better off with a less talented player who could handle pressure? Or are we better off hoping that A-Rod will one day get his head on straight and be a solid clutch player?

Torre better never manager another Yankee game.
Silverfuel @ 10/11/2005 12:03 AM
I fukin hate AROD! I cannot believe I bother watching these overpaid motherfucking athletes that dont fucking give a crap about their team! I hate the fact I care more about the team than assholes like GAY ROD that hits into a DOUBLE PLAY in the bottom of the 9th. This guy is completely worthless! I hope there is a way to get rid of this guy. I am disgusted.
jaydh @ 10/11/2005 12:04 AM
its funny that the yankees lost by 2 runs, the same amount of runs that scored when bubba and sheffield ran into each other.. what morons, sheff was right under it and didnt call for it, serves them right.
CTKnicksfan @ 10/11/2005 12:04 AM
Tough break with the collision in the second, but the offense coming up empty against a rookie replacement for Colon, ugh. A-Rod at this point is a huge disappointment. Matsui also came up small,(0-5)but he's at least been clutch before.

I wish they'd keep Bernie, but this was probably his last game in pinstripes. Matsui will be resigned, and either shifted to CF or they'll try to sign Damon.

And I'd better not be hearing any BS from George or the media about firing Torre. I'll boycott the year if that idiocy happens!

yea, thats why they lost, not the error in the outfield that lost them the lead, and momentum.

yea, arod is only in the running for MVP, but he sucks.. matsui was MIA, Bernie can be used as a DH but i'd dread having him play the OF.

error in the outfield happened today, AROD has been sucking all week long!

A-Rod might be the first player every who to win the MVP award and in the same season have the majority of the team's fans hoping that he's shipped off to another team! It's probably close to a zero percent chance of him being traded, though. I suppose anything's possible if Cashman is replaced.

This was Cashman's last chance for me. He's had all the money he could ever ask for to work with (and with no salary restrictions) but has managed only about a .550 winning percentage and zero championships in the past six years.
CTKnicksfan @ 10/11/2005 12:14 AM
Play in the outfield was a tough break, both guys were tracking the ball and couldn't hear each other with the crowd noise.

As for ARod, while I certainly don't want to see him shipped off to annother team, he seems to consistently come up small in big spots. I'm sure he'd trade his MVP for some postseason heroics. Maybe next year.
Pharzeone @ 10/11/2005 12:17 AM
The Yankees were doomed even without A-Rod non-help. How many times can you spot a team 5 runs and expect to comeback. Cashman has shown he has no clue. He inherited a good team from Stick and Watson. All his big moves are crap. Just cause you wear glasses don't make you smart. I rather have the old guy make more of the decisions, his guys seem to work out while Cashman moves just suck. Oh well, let me the first and wish the Angels horrible luck. I hate those stupid rally monkeys. And the White Soxs no luck. Ex-Yankee pitching, oh how I hate Cashman.

Cashman did do a good job with Cano, Chacon, Wang, and Small but it's too little too late. The results from the last six years are too poor to bring back Cashman.
djsunyc @ 10/11/2005 12:22 AM
cashman was more responsible for the wangs, chacons, and smalls.

the big ticket guys are from tampa and george.

That's the conventional wisdom and it could be correct but we have no way of knowing
