That is a huge blow to phoenix..... Kurt needs to step it up.
KT couldn't averaged more than 10 & 10 on a 33win team. He's not going to average 18 & 10 in Phoenix with Marion and nash there
Just saw that myself. Wow, huge blow for the Suns, can't say I'm all that sad.

Now, KT will be exposed like he was here.
Ha Ha! I like to see Amare dunk but Phoenix is gonna suck. Now let's see Kurt be the inside force that everybody said he was after he got traded
Oh yeah, KT is there the Suns are set. I mean he should average 21 & 12. With no Amare, more rebounds and points for him right. Who needs JJ & Q. btw, see the 2003-2004 Knicks, injury is no excuse. You have the best pg in the league (MVP), all-star Marion and KT. Injury is no excuse with that team. Just ask Isiah.
Looks like KT will be depended on to be the #1 frontcourt player again, besides Marion. Not good for the Suns. There goes my championship expectations for the Suns.
Micro-fracture for Amare. Damn. I truly hope his career isn't over or drastically changed by this.
The Suns will not suck. Nash knows how to run a team. They'll probably be able to hover around .500 till Amare comes back.
The Suns will play > .500 while he's gone. They wont use the injury as an excuse. They will rally around him. They will give him the proper time to heal as well. Mark my words. Knick fans cry about injuries last year, but watch how the Suns react.
It was microfracture surgery?? 4 months is extremely optimistic. He's probably done for the full season. If it was on a weight-bearing part of the bone, he'll probably never be close to what he used to be. I have to revise my Suns win prediction from -12 relative to last season to about -25. This turns what already was a VERY BAD offseason into a NIGHTMARE offseason for the Suns.

They didn't rally around their injured players 2 years ago when they won about 30 games.

Suns star has microfracture procedure on left knee
Paul Coro
The Arizona Republic
Oct. 11, 2005
The Suns received devastating news this morning regarding their All-Star big man.
Suns star Amaré Stoudemire’s arthroscopic surgery evolved into a microfracture procedure on his left knee this morning, according to his manager.
Team physician and orthopedic surgeon Thomas Carter found Stoudemire’s cartilage damage to be more severe than anticipated. Stoudermire’s manager, Rodney Rice, said the power forward is expected be out for four months because of the surgery.
“It was better to do the microfracture now instead of chancing that the lesion would grow, which might affect Amaré down the road,” said Rice, who was in the room during this morning’s scope. “It was best to do the procedure now.”
Suns fans remember how microfracture surgery greatly changed the game of Penny Hardaway but Rice said Stoudemire should not be as adversely affected because he is having the operation at a younger age and at a time when the lesion is smaller. During a microfracture, holes are drilled into the bone. The cells then come up with the blood through the holes and form into cartilage.
“He’s got a lot of things in his favor to come back in a strong way,” Rice said.
they will definitely miss the playoffs......
Steve Nash won't be able to recognize any of the guyz walking the break with him. Brian Grant, Kurt Thomas and Pat Burke < Amare, Qrich and Joe Johnson. I predict instant sucking.
KT couldn't averaged more than 10 & 10 on a 33win team.
I feel I am being called out! The number of past wins is highly irrelevant. The most important factor is style of play and teammates.
He's not going to average 18 & 10 in Phoenix with Marion and nash there
Why will playing with 2 of the most unselfish players in the game hurt Thomas? Why will playing with one of the best passers and floor generals in the game not improve his offensive numbers? Please explain.

The Suns should not place ANY TIMETABLE on Stoudemire's return. The smart way to play would be to bring him back for the playoffs IF he can play, and if the Suns make it to the playoffs. AS is young for microfracture and that doesn't bode well for the career of a player who is defined by his athleticism.
On the Steve Nash front, now he gets to prove or disprove that he is an MVP caliber player. I think this will prove that he really isn't an MVP, but at the same time, it will also prove what a superior point guard he is, holding the team together and getting major production out of KT every night.
Gittonya KT haters!!
oohah

Kurt Thomas has an 3 inch verticle and will block less shots than Nate the Great. Steve Nash will have to slow down the breaks to give the old guys time to set up the pick & rolls

I hope you are right Fish, because they pretty much b$$ch up against the Suns. You would have thought JJ was the next coming. I know for sure Marion went on and on about not having JJ cost them that series.
Martin & Andrew: I liked it in the past how "moved" threads still got bumped up in this forum whenever someone replied. Now an interesting thread like this one is quickly falling off the front page. Just my humble opinion.

True, but this has no bearing on my KT 2005 18/10 prediction.
Steve Nash will have to slow down the breaks to give the old guys time to set up the pick & rolls
Pick and rolls are typically run in halfcourt play, not on the fast break. KT's role on the fast break will be as a trailer for the short range jump shot. He will pick up 2-6 points a game in this manner, which will be about 2-6 more points per game than he got on the break playing for the Knicks.

.
With the team Phoenix has now everyone will be trailing the break except for Shawn Marion and Steve Nash. Jim Jackson, Brian Grant and Kurt Thomas do not = a fast break.

A very good point to make my case for me. Yes, Thomas and the rest will be trailing on the fast break. KT will get more shots than he would have because AS won't be there to finish = more trailing shots on the 'secondary' break.
Jim Jackson, Brian Grant and Kurt Thomas do not = a fast break.
Okay.
