NBA · WILL KURT THOMAS BE AN ALL STAR IN 2006 ??? (page 1)

Killa4luv @ 10/11/2005 4:19 PM
HELL NO!!!!
Cookdcokehop @ 10/11/2005 4:26 PM
Your calling Amare Stoudamire a bum and Kurt Thomas and allstar. You just making one thing clear your an f'n idiot.
Bonn1997 @ 10/11/2005 4:27 PM
An All-star???? Kurt Thomas will be a WAY below average PF in the west. Out of the fifteen starting PFs in the west, Kurt will rank around 10th, behind K-Mart, KG, Zach if healthy, Boozer, Brand, Odom, Dirk, Gasol, and Duncan. He'll be an all-star but only if they allow TEN PFs on the all-star team.

Ahh Mr. (Mrs.?) Cookdcokehop, what else should I expect from someone whose alias refers to crack? Why don't you read the post before calling names? I never said he will be an all star, I said the conditions are perfect for it. I did say he would average about 18/10.

Also the Stoudemire comment was a joke which I know was clear to our readers who don't spend their time sucking on a glass pipe or sucking for the glass pipe like yourself.

Lastly, I will caution you not to bring it on because I will break you down more thoroughly than you ever thought possible. Don't bring it, because I will come with it.

P.S.

A quick lesson in english to M. Cookdcokehop:
Your calling Amare Stoudamire a bum and Kurt Thomas and allstar.

The contraction of 'You are' is you're. Example: "Cookdcokehop, you're a crack head." = "Cookdcokehop, you are a crack head."

"Your" is a word used to describe possession to another person. Example: "Cookdcokehop, where did all your crack go?"
WOODMANnYk @ 10/11/2005 4:49 PM
Kurt Thomas is pretty much done.. 1 yr left ..
boomann @ 10/11/2005 4:51 PM
Is this some kind of joke?
LongIslandKnicksFan @ 10/11/2005 5:35 PM
I think due to Amare being out for four months, KT will compliment the frontline and maybe be 14/12. I think it's 50/50.
boomann @ 10/11/2005 5:57 PM
So this isn't a joke! Kurt Thomas an all star, now the lunacy of this section of the forum has forced me to respond. Did anyone else notice that Stephon was number 3 in assists behind Brevin Knight and the "MVP" Steve Nash and who do you guys think was getting most of Marbury's passes? My second point is this Kurt was the only big man on the Knicks who could score and rebound consistently and he couldn't even become a all-star in the east after years of playing in NY. So since Amare is hurt he's all of a sudden going to throw on his cape and save phoenix from sucking. That's kind of funny but, it's sad that you guys don't want to face reality. Kurt was sent to Phoenix only to compliment Amare asking him for any more than that is setting yourself up for dissapointment. Sorry KT fans but this will not happen

no way he averages 14 & 12 definitely not 12rebs! he's not a very good rebounder. very few guys average over 11rebs

So this isn't a joke!

No.
Kurt Thomas an all star, now the lunacy of this section of the forum has forced me to respond.

While you are doing that please respond to these nutty, impossible happenings:

Steve Nash becomes MVP
Undrafted Brad Miller becomes a 2-time all-star
CBA refugee John Starks becomes an all-star
CBA refugee Anthony Mason becomes an all-star

Give me a minute, and I'll come up with about a dozen more lunatic occurences.
Did anyone else notice that Stephon was number 3 in assists behind Brevin Knight and the "MVP" Steve Nash

Nash averaged 11.5, 3.4 more than Stephon's 8.1. That is quite a margin. Marury is a better passer than he is given credit for, you are correct about that.
and who do you guys think was getting most of Marbury's passes?

And...?
My second point is this Kurt was the only big man on the Knicks who could score and rebound consistently and he couldn't even become a all-star in the east after years of playing in NY.

Okay, but KT has put up pretty good numbers:

Kurt Thomas:
CAREER AVERAGES
REBOUNDS PER GAME
YEAR TEAM G GS MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
95-96 MIA 74 42 22.4 .501 .000 .663 1.6 4.3 5.9 .6 .64 .49 1.32 3.70 9.0
96-97 MIA 18 9 20.8 .371 .000 .761 1.7 4.2 5.9 .5 .67 .50 1.39 3.70 6.3
96-97 -- 18 9 20.8 .371 .000 .761 1.7 4.2 5.9 .5 .67 .50 1.39 3.70 6.3
97-98 DAL 5 0 14.6 .378 .000 1.000 1.6 3.2 4.8 .6 .20 .00 2.00 3.80 7.4
98-99 NYK 50 44 23.6 .462 .000 .611 1.6 4.1 5.7 1.1 .90 .34 1.46 3.20 8.1
99-00 NYK 80 21 24.6 .505 .333 .781 1.8 4.5 6.3 1.0 .64 .53 1.31 3.50 8.0
00-01 NYK 77 29 27.6 .511 .333 .814 2.2 4.5 6.7 .8 .79 .90 1.29 3.70 10.4
01-02 NYK 82 82 33.8 .494 .167 .815 2.6 6.5 9.1 1.1 .87 .96 1.87 4.20 13.9
02-03 NYK 81 81 31.8 .483 .667 .750 2.0 5.9 7.9 2.0 1.00 1.20 1.70 4.20 14.0
03-04 NYK 80 75 31.9 .473 .000 .835 1.8 6.5 8.3 1.9 .70 1.00 1.65 3.70 11.1
04-05 NYK 80 80 35.7 .471 .500 .786 2.1 8.3 10.4 2.0 .88 .99 1.24 3.90 11.5
Career 627 463 28.9 .484 .269 .764 2.0 5.6 7.6 1.3 .79 .80 1.49 3.80 10.8
Playoff 48 24 22.0 .442 .000 .725 1.8 4.0 5.8 .6 .60 .56 1.19 3.70 6.5
So since Amare is hurt he's all of a sudden going to throw on his cape and save phoenix from sucking.

The problem is you are using a poor line of reasoning. That is certainly not what I said. My statement is that KT has a perfect chance to put up career numbers in Phoenix, about 18/10. As opposed to when he was with the Knicks, when as you pointed out, he was on the front line essentially by himself playing out of position every night.

And that prediction was before Amare was out. Afterwards, I say that it is possible KT will do even better than I predicted. Whether or not that translates into an all-star bid is really up to the coaches.
That's kind of funny but, it's sad that you guys don't want to face reality.

Whatever...
Kurt was sent to Phoenix only to compliment Amare asking him for any more than that is setting yourself up for dissapointment.

That is fine. Does that mean he cannot put up bigger numbers than he has in the past? The last "compliment to Amare", Joe Johnson, averaged 17.1 points as the number 4 man on the team.
Sorry KT fans but this will not happen

What won't?

KT should have a slid year if his ankles hold up with all that running the Suns do.

Why you hatin' on my thread enyspree?
An All-star???? Kurt Thomas will be a WAY below average PF in the west. As I recall, Nowitzki went into the all-star game as a center at least once, as have Tim Duncan and a couple more of those guys you mentioned. K-mart is terribly overrated in my opinion. Zach Randolph has blossomed, but he is injury prone, a jerk, and he plays on a bad team, ZR is not a likely coaches pick. Odom is also overrated. But you are right, the competition is stiff.

Anyway, I am not predicting KT makes the all-star squad because even Stephon Marbury didn't make it last year. There are a lot of factors involved with making the all-star team. I do predict bigger numbers for KT, to the tune of 18/10.

HARDCOREKNICKSFAN @ 10/11/2005 8:38 PM
Starbury... all-star. Now that's a thought.

Lol man yall guys crack me up. Oohah is a very interesting name itself. Im not even gonna comment on my name and ya words aint hurting me homie. Im 18 and I will be the mature one. I dont feel like arging with a 35 year old man that beats off to the 1994 and 1999 NBA final films. If you realize what you said then you would not be bitching about what I said. "Amare Stoudamire a bum", but he destroyed Tim Duncan the "Best Power Foward" in the league. Kurt Thomas has like 1/2 of a pinky left. And he aint good for shit on the low post. So before you get a fit realize what I meant. And If it makes you feel better your not a f'n idiot...aight Lol `1` Mr. COOKDCOKEHOP

I wouldn't comment on my name if it was cookdcokehop either.
Im 18 and I will be the mature one.

Okay, let's see how that maturity thing turns out. It is obvious that you are a youth, but I did not take a shot at your apparent lack of culture and wisdom because not all kids are stupid and rude. For instance, I was and still am a lot smarter and more polite than you.
I dont feel like arging with a 35 year old man

Uh, right, you know my age kid. Nice try though. Even if I was 35 (Or am I?) why would it bother me that some pissant is 18? Come on, expand on your logic my lad.
that beats off to the 1994 and 1999 NBA final films.

Oops, there goes that maturity thing! How long did it last? 30 seconds? That is about how long it will take when you FINALLY lose your virginity son.
If you realize what you said then you would not be bitching about what I said.

When I was a kid we had a saying: RIFwhich stands for Reading Is Fundamental. That must have been lost on your generation tadpole.

It was a joke!--->RIF!
Kurt Thomas has like 1/2 of a pinky left.

Okay, he still averaged 11.5/10.5 last year. This year he will be on a better team that shares more and scores more. Now the number one scorer is gone for half the season at least. I would say you should put 2&2 together but...
And he aint good for **** on the low post.

Fine.
So before you get a fit realize what I meant.

I don't care what you think. You just need to learn manners. Don't be a troll. Don't call names. When you go at me expect to be met with about 10 times what you brought. And if you don't know, now you know.
And If it makes you feel better your not a f'n idiot...aight Lol `1` Mr. COOKDCOKEHOP

Oohah your hilarious, Im posting in between classes. Can I state my logic why Kurt Thomas will not be an allstar? The West is full of allstar caliber Power Fowards that are all younger and more athletic than Kurt. Thats it, end of discussion.

Why didn't you just post something like that instead of insulting people? Wouldn't that have been a more intelligent and civil way to behave?

Anyway, I never said "he will be an all-star", I said "Will he be?" Get with the subtlety. However, I did say he would put up career numbers, to the tune of about 18/10.

***

Just to teach you a little something about this game we call basketball:

I don't want to get on age, but since you brought it up, and since I have been watching this game longer than you have been alive, take it from me. Improbable things happen every year. NOBODY thought Steve Nash would get MVP. NOBODY thought undrafted Brad Miller would be a 2-time all-star. Is that recent enough for you? Sometimes things just fall into place. Right place, right time, right opportunity. And while I might be wrong about KT having a banner year, I am certainly right about improbable events happening. It's one of the reasons we watch this game. You'll find out.
