Terrible Stuff, RIP Jason Collier. I hope this does not repeat itself with Curry.

how do you just die like that?

I've been having sharp pain near the left side of my chest like near my ribs for a few weeks.

Damn...

HIgh blood pressure, low blood pressure, smoking, high cholestrol, obesity, stress, viral infections, substance abuse, not to mention complications from other illnesses or diseases. Like Kidney failure and internal injuries. Everyone is suspectible to heart complications and for no particular reason.

Allanfan20 @ 10/15/2005 2:29 PM
Yup, and when a young person gets a heart attack or something like they, they are MORE likely to die. It can also occur in a perfectly healthy young person, but if he/she does experience something, he has to be rushed to treatment EXTRA FAST.

Bobs, get that checked out, no question. However, when someone has a heart attack or experiences heart problems, there are a lot more symptons. Like the famous pain up the arm, b/c that's where the pain tissues for the heart are. Also, faintness, sudden fatigue, nausea, stuff like that. A young person needs to get treated RIGHT AWAY. Bobs, I am sure you mainly just have a pulled muscle or something. But like I said, get that sht checked out.

i get that too. i went to the doctor and get constant blood test because i have a family history of heart problems ( my dad takes about seven piulls daily but he smokes and consumes a great amount of sodium). you just have to watch what you eat and try not to overload on salt. by the way, the doctor said you can get pains because of muscle spasms if you do exercises like push ups. so that could be it but better to be safe than sorry. it is a shame when something like this happens. my prayers go out to their family. but then there will be more debate with the curry situation because of this believe me.

wow....I can hear Paxson now echoing his fears for eddy. The thing is, I don't think Collier ever was diagnosed with any heart issues!

How tragic. My condolences to his family. Did he have any kids?

Just on a sidenore concerning Curry, Curry has been through tens of thousands of $ of tests multiple times and looked at by 10-15 leading cardiologists. The odds of something material being wrong that he could drop dead are about the same as anyone else. Its pretty rare for a young person to have an episode, you do hear young people die every so often, but the odds of it happening are EXTREMELY low. Its the fact that when someone young does die, it so sad and sticks out that it amplifies the situation, by reality is a 28 year old dropping dead of a heart problem is as likely as a person crashing in a plane.

If I had to guess, just from what I have read, Collier either had a blood clot or actual coronary heart disease. Unless he was in the hospital, there was really no chance to save him, you wouldve needed clot breaking drugs and the ability to get him into the OR within minutes. You would need to take advanced tests to find this out, its tough to diagnose through general physicals. It was just his time to go, as very sad as that is.

If you read all the articles and what was said, it's very sad.

You just never know when it is your time to go, and the people around you are just left wondering what could've been.

RIP
