What happened to this guy. I think it was four years ago that he was a high first round draft pick by Cleveland after a storied high school career and a year spent playing for Calipari at Memphis. He seemed to play fairly well his first year, but injuries I guess derailed him the last couple of years. I don't even know if he is in the league.
What happened to this guy?
injuries. And family problems too. There were some articles on him a couple months back.
Thanx.
I wasn't aware of that. I'll have to google him. His father, Milt, was a good college player at Louisville who had a cup of coffee in the NBA. I think Calipari hired Milt Wagner at the same time that Dejuan matriculated. Milt never made it in the NBA either, though I remember his college coach, Denny Crum, predicting he'd be a 10-year pro.
Come to think of it, Cleveland's recent draft picks other than LeBrown James haven't panned out. DeSagna Diop was a high school picked eighth in the NBA. A perfect case of picking on potential because Diop wasn't even a very good high school player. He averaged less than 10 points a game! They drafted him because of his body.
He may be a late bloomer though, because he's playing pretty well, or at least more, in Dallas.
And Luke Jackson hasn't made his mark either. I remember that great Oregon team that had the two Lukes, Jackson and Ridnour, and Freddie Jones (now with Indiana) from the NC2A. I thought Jackson would be a good pro too.
