RJ Carter Kidd - 23 rebounds.

Pacers starting 5 - 24 rebounds.

Nets played excellent D on Jermaine.

Johnson is a very good back-up capable of providing a big punch when inserted. Playmaking abilities for others is limited.

Jersey made the plays down the stretch

The one on one D was average on Jermaine, nothing extraordinary. The doubling was great. Still, Jermaine is easily capable of doing better than he did. He needed to get deeper position and re-post.

Anthony Johnson trampled all over Kidd in this series. Whatever you consider him to be, back-up or starter, he was absolutely phenomenal.

The fact that Vince Carter got a lay-up and RJ blocked a shot weren't the changeable reasons the Pacers lost the game. Those plays happen. O'Neal didn't execute enough in the post in the 2nd half.

Jersey made the plays throughout the game. Indiana was flat in the 3rd qurter.

changeable reasons? wtf are you talking about.

Anyhow Indy didn't lose the game in the 3rd. It went to the wire and there were 2 plays late in the fourth that determined the outcome:

Kidd tipping the rebound from O' Neal with the Nets up only 2.

RJ blocking O' Neals putback attempt with the Nets up only 2.

The 2 clutch hussle plays highlight for me why Jersey is going to South florida instead of home for a game 7. If you didn't see these plays then you missed some great individual effort.

As for Jermaine, his team has gone fishing. I don't know why you keep mentioning him. He is past tense. Another player to start 10 threads pondering trade possibilities for.

btw,

10 assists 26 turnovers. Thats good TEAM DEFENSE

Relax, don't get your panties in a bunch. You don't know what changeable means? Do you need a dictionary?

The point is Indiana should have been up down the stretch but they weren't because they played poorly in the 3rd. Realize it.

The team defense was good from NJ. Thats obvious.
McK1 @ 5/5/2006 7:08 AM
"should've been up...realize it."

still refuse to give the Nets any credit. Too funny.

This is just flat out strange. Did Jermaine O' Neal do something to your family? Relax. The past tense nonsense is retarded. He is part of the reason NJ lost - he deserves to be brought up. Just as you brought up his blocked shot.

As for credit, I have said New Jersey played well. They played fantastic. But, from Indiana's standpoint, the game wasn't a blowout. In hindsight, Indiana lapsed defensively and turned it over at the start of the 3rd at the opening of the 3rd. The Nets came out razor sharp. Down the stretch, it was too much of a lead to overcome - you can't expect Anthony Johnson to hit every shot down the stretch. How is that denying the Nets credit?

Indy is a vet team. Noone expected them to roll over. The lead was 4 going into the fourth. now enough about the losing team

you can't expect Anthony Johnson to hit every shot down the stretch

As for the winners, thats exactly how they played the Pacers. If AJ makes the shot, he makes it but they never went into scramble mode to try and take him out of the game. Frank is a brilliant young coach. Carlisle, too.

that picture is hysterial!

Mck, I don't think we disagree on too much here. I still think that aside from a possession here and there, the failure of the zone in containing Dick Jeff in the 2nd half and O'Neal's failure to re-post were the biggest issues. Bottom line - NJ won, Indy lost. Although I have to say your excitement at the Nets winning is a little perturbing. Outside of the Knicks, Carter is my favorite player and I still can't stand them winning even a game.

Btw, Carlisle and Jackson looks like a scene out of "Me, Myself and Irene"

since theres rarely a night I can cheer the effort of my own squad, hating guys who go out and get it done would ruin any joy I have left for the NBA.

Nets win in 6

38-21 NJ

team speed of NJ is killing the Heat so far
ultknicks524 @ 5/8/2006 8:58 PM
60-39 Nets.

I expect the Heat to make a big comeback in the second half.
McK1 @ 5/8/2006 9:33 PM
4 fouls on Shaq.

Wade cannot guard Carter in the post
McK1 @ 5/12/2006 9:45 PM
Carter at it again
oohah @ 5/14/2006 6:11 PM
Looks bad for the Nets. Miami is looking very good. If Wade, Shaq, and Walker can keep this stuff up Detroit is gonna get all they can handle. Mourning hasn't even really joined the fun yet...

oohah

McK1 @ 5/14/2006 7:21 PM
real bad

Robinson's 5 game suspension totally killed NJ's chances. Frank plays 7 and 1 of them was Cliff - the only rotation big.

Today - 5 bench points for NJ.
