carrying that team.

Vince Carter is a stat guy. He has accomplished less than Dwayne Wade in his career so far. Even before Wade had Shaq.

What is the guy suppose to do. Kidd and RJ just p#ssy up like they usually do in these tight moments. Somebody had to try and take the shots just to keep the Nets in the game.
Nalod @ 5/13/2006 1:35 AM

Yeah, not like our guys!

Unbelievable, Our guys are well into their vacation and Gazy is getting serious run.

Miami played good defense to cause the turnovers.

Fughettaboutit.

Miami's only hope of ever winning a championship lies in 2 things:

1.) A healthy, in-shape Shaq
2.) They seriously need to get rid of soft offensive players like Walker, Doleac, and Payton. Not that Walker's a bad player, but the Heat play a grind-it-out, slow, post up and kick out style. Walker is more of an up-tempo chucker, albeit one that can rebound. Doleac doesnt even play, and Payton is so over-the-hill it makes you wonder what the hell Riley was thinking of when he signed him in the first place.

Theyre gonna beat Jersey caz theyre straight up better, but theyre goin down in 6 or less to Detroit.

Riley put TOO MUCH talent on the team. They need less.
bobs3304 @ 5/13/2006 2:53 AM
And godammit start James Posey.
rojasmas @ 5/13/2006 9:17 AM
Tim Thomas had 19 and 14 rebounds last night. 14 rebounds! What gives?

FINALLY the boxing lessons paid off.

Didnt catch the game. Will the Nets give the Heat any competition?

TT was never that bad just typical NY media coverage and fan reaction. TT wouldn't have that many rebounds if Amare or KT were available to play but since they aren't he is going to get the rebounds like Marion (Nash and those others aren't going to fight for rebounds).
bigbeast @ 5/13/2006 11:57 AM
TT's stats are a product of Dantoni's system. Nothing more. Dantoni's system derserves half of Nash's MVP.....
rojasmas @ 5/13/2006 12:02 PM
Nash was horrible last night, ahem, until he hit the game winning shot.

and his soccer coach back in Canada deaserves the other half...

lol

little Canadian guy kicking ass all over the league has many miffed.

all-star weekend:

the guy launches a basketball off his foot, redirects it using his forehead about 10 feet in the air on an arc to Amare for an alley-oop.

Nash is phenomenal.

Many basketball players cannot do that nor can they run that - "all they do is shoot 3's; that's not basketball" - Stephon Marbury on Phoenix' style of play - system.

That would earn him a seat on the And 1 bus. Whoopty-damn-doo

I'm knocking Nash as a player. Hes a phenominal PG, But Dantoni and that system is not getting the credit it deserves. Any jack-of-all-trades athlete will have the ability to excell in that system. Unlike Brown this system breeds confidence, maximizes players abilities and inflates Stats.....
McK1 @ 5/13/2006 1:29 PM
I think it gets a ton of credit.

DAntoni was coach of the year last year.

Mike D'Antoni is a household name.

He gets more press on TNT ESPN NBATV than any coach not nicknamed the Little General.

Diaw Barbosa Raja James Jones are all peaking offensively in it. Diaw won the MIP award. Eddie House has found a consistent and meaningful role. These are all reflection on the coach.

Nash's name gets brought up even more because of the contingent of folk who felt that without Amare he and the Suns would somehow be exposed. Instead all he does is go out

and post career highs in scoring rebounding and field goal percentage

only player to shoot 50% from the field 40% from 3 90% from the line

leads Phx to 54 wins and a 2nd straight division crown
