i think that in the end defence always prevails good defence can always stop good offence do u guys think that the surge of offencive teams is do to the defencive changes the nba has made over the past few years. 1-5 and 1-4
I think teams are catching up to their style of play, and i think Diaw playing poorly is key to phoenix plus trying to work back Amare + KT who both slow the team down is making it a tough adjustment.
Dallas i dunno... I think they will be fine... They lost Josh diddnt they?
Once players get paid ,owners get played. WELCOME TO THE NEW NBA!
here's my take on pheonix - i always thought that uptempo style was bullshit. unless you stop teams, you ain't going to win. and that entire d'antoni offense is based primarily on steve nash. i don't think there's too many guys in the league that can run that offense like nash. they're still too talented offensively to stay in this mini "funk" but if nash gets hurt, forget about it - they will be thoroughly exposed.
mavs were 3rd to last in assists last year. it's all isolations with them. right now, they really ain't hitting and not having josh howard is going to hurt. they scored last night b/c it was vs. the suns.
both teams are VERY talented and will be fine. but on any given night this season, any team can win. the days of the dynasty are pretty much over.
Diaw is not the player he was last year and PHX is trying to work KT and Amare in, two guys who don't particularly fit the quick pass/running game. PHX will be good, maybe even better once Diaw plays his way back into shape and they figure out to work KT and Amare in.
Dallas I think is just going through a let down period after getting SO close last year. they have to know they blew a big chance. I can't believe they gave up Marquis Daniels. But still, they'll be fine, it may take until January for the haze to wear off.
I think San Antonio is going to take serious advantage of this and build a big lead for home court though.
