also, Andromeda was much, much hotter in the original (nice butt shot)... the whole point of the original was that she was so hot it made Perseus go kill giant scorpions, fight a demi-demon who hated his guts, get molested by 3 blind cannibal witches, chop off Medusa's head, capture & tame Pegasus, & destroy the Kraken just so he could get some bukkake from her in the end... that's what you call a worthy purpose!

& totally agree w/u on the showing the Kraken only once in this flick... the first one gave him a purpose in the movie & everyone knew what they were up against & what it was capable of... Perseus was like fug dat, i'ma get some hot Greek poon before i die, I'm the son of Zeus bitch! Kraken ain't got nothin' on me! but in the remake he was just sorta forced into the quest cuz he was pissed off at Hades for killing his family... that didn't make much sense to me.

Really looking forward to seeing Ondine. First I thought this was about a mermaid but it's actually an Irish tale about a Selkie (supposedly half seal/half human). Looks cool and this Alicja Bachleda is smokin' hot. Definite Alba thread material...I'll go see this.

smokin aces 2: assassin's ball- this movie is NUTS but for me it is s good thing. it matched the chaotic kinetic energy of the first game which some people hated but i loved. the plot of this is that there is a person working as a desk clerk that is targeted for death by 4 different and eccentric assassins. only two of the assassins are familiar but all are entertaining in their own way. the set up is key as you piece together clues as to why they want this person dead and of course a twist at the end that is predictable. however, for action junkies, there is a lot, more than i expected from a direct to video movie and it is well done and paced. if you like the first one, then you will like this one.

iron man 2- i heard many mixed things from critics and audiences alike so i was skeptical. then when i went away after i watched this, i was more than pleased. this movie was GREAT. TDK great? Nah. but it was still hot. if you expect wall to wall action, wait for the a-team. this is a story that develops the character of tony even further as well as his friends and enemy. the cast did an outstanding job and when iron man is finally in action, he does not disappoint. great action sequences and convincing. war machine did his thing too. this is also a set up movie for the avengers which, for a comic book geek like me, it is fine ( again sit through the credits if you are a marvel comic fan). rdj absolutely killed this role and solidified himself as the best portrayal of a superhero ever. i am watching this next week on imax with my son but this is HIGHLY recommended, especially if you are part of the true "geek squad" like me. makes you so giddy that this is for real: they are actually doing an avengers movie. its mind boggling.

ugh, just watched "Legion"... what a horrible joke of a movie... could have been so much more... i guess i shoulda expected as much when a fallen Angel takes up toting around machine guns & RPG launchers to kill off Angel possessed humans pent on killing the baby of some random white trash diner waitress who doesn't even know who the father is... if u haven't seen this yet, don't bother.

Just came back from watching Iron Man 2 with the family. It did not disappoint. RDJ is really a great actor. This is a must see. The end of the credits is a must for comic book fans.

Mickey Rourke portrayal of wiiplash is awesome. Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer was also well done. Scarlett's portrayal of Agent Romanoff was ...eh...ok. Her action scenes though were very good.

Paltrow as Pepper Potts has really good chemistry with RDJ as Tony Stark.

jazz74 wrote:kick-ass- this was a very entertaining movie to say the least. i like the concept of having a superhero in a real world and the consequences of such an action. the characters are great, but hit-girl and big daddy takes their performances to another level. hit girl's intro was on the same level as blade's in his first movie as she slices and dices, literally. the best sequence was the "rescue" scene done with night goggles. there were some corny moments, but the great moments overshadow them. recommended but be warned: it is violent and there are offensive language in this movie that will surprise.

Just finished watching "Kick Ass" Wow!! Did not expect it to be this good. Big Daddy and Hit Girl really takes the cake. This is a must see but as jazz said...this movie is violent and a lot of offensive languages.

finally saw Iron Man 2... really enjoyed it... i thought the action sequences were awesome & CGI effects were money... couldn't get enough of Scarlett Johansson in that tight secretary's outfit, until that is she put on that black widow costume & started kicking some ass... damn! can't wait for the Avengers movie!

Question: Which was better...Black Widow fight scene or Hit Girl fight scene?

Hit Girl fight scene? dunno what movie you're referring to.

the Black Widow fight scene was awesome... 1 of the better parts of the movie IMO... i'm glad they didn't put her up against another female villain for the cliche catfight scene, those types of scenes are always less than spectacular unless there's some sweat, nekked boobies & perhaps some jello involved.

has to be the hit girl fight scene because it was so unexpected and vicious. black widow scene was still great tho.

Finally saw Daybreakers. Very good vampire flick with so many cool ideas. The only thing I didn't like is that they never really bother to explain the whole epidemic, why & how it originated, etc.. However it could've been done -- explained slowly through flashbacks like I am Legend or even given to us quickly in the beginning like how the movie Reign of Fire decided to explain where the dragons came from -- I don't know man, something, because it definitely needed more of an explanation. To not give us anything at all came off as a mistake by the filmmakers..For a movie that was only 90 mins., you kinda walk away wanting a little more - it really needed to be fleshed out some more & a little longer, maybe 1:45 to 2 hours.. Just a minor criticism though because other than that, everything else was first-rate: the rest of the story was outstanding, Ethan Hawke was good, Willem Dafoe's character was AWESOME with many cool lines, Sam Neill was great as the piece of shyt CEO of the blood-harvesting company only concerned with appealing to the masses and making a buck, the 2 chicks (the human female on the run that seeks out Hawke's help & Sam Neill's daughter) were both hot, and the set design and makeup F/X were outstanding. I just wanted a little more that's all.. DVD was great too with an informative and pretty lengthy 'making of' featurette. Very solid 3 out of 4 stars though...I say SEE IT! LOL.
