We will re-sign Jacobs.
Ward is a really good player and we'll never forget what he did last week, but we can replace him with the guys on the roster (Bradshaw, Ware).
That being said, having both guys healthy and productive will be the key to our playoff run.
OT: Cowgirls are getting smashed by the dirtybirds in Philly... Pacman Jones fumbles kickoff w/5 seconds left in the 1st half right after Philly scored a TD to give them a free 3 pts. going into halftime... HAHAHAHA! great investment there Jerry Jones.
holy crap, 41-3... can the Cowgirls play any worse? i almost feel sorry for them... almost.
meaningless loss but at least the G-Men played well enough to win today... 2nd half was pretty much garbage time but i thought Carr looked good & made some really nice throws, & he even got Sinorice Moss involved in the offense... our 4th string backup RB Ware looked pretty nice too on 1 of his runs... looks like he's got nice size & is patient letting the linemen set up the holes & he hits them pretty hard once he finds them... Ahmad Bradshaw has looked worse of late, he's not waiting for his lanes to develop & he's running away from his blockers too often.
was a meaningless game but i thought the team played pretty hard all things considered... that long run by A Pete was a bogus, the refs totally missed an illegal block in the back on Justin Tuck that sprung him for that play... other than that play the Giants' defense was solid even in the second half.
too bad Sam Madison broke his ankle, but Terrell Thomas has been good in a backup role so we should be OK in the secondary... time to get these guys healed up & ready for the playoffs in 2 weeks!
Lucky we didn't suffer a more serious injury. We can live without Sam Madison. They played well with their backups on the road against a team fighting for the playoffs. It's now time to look ahead.
As for the Cowboys, LMAO @ them. Their fans always talk trash and fall flat on their faces.
here's how the playoff picture breaks down for us:
if the Eagles beat Minnesota next week, we will host the dirty birds in 2 weeks & the winner of the Falcons/Cardinals game will go to Carolina.
if the Vikings beat the Eagles next week, they will go to Carolina & we will host the winner of the Falcons/Cardinals game.
thanks to Brett Favre's ineptitude, there's no hope for an all NY Super Bowl this year.
just a thought, it would be crazy if it was Payton Manning vs. Eli Manning in the SB

I don't think I've ever felt so good after a Giants loss. The Cowboys AND the Pats don't goto the playoffs? Who would have guessed.

That's two less revenge teams that we won't have to deal with. But my gut feeling is, we basically lost the last 'four' games of the season. The Panther's game? You could look at it as a miracle game and that's how we're going to have to do it again, if we are to win again. If the Giants loss the first game, I wouldn't be all that surprised. That's the realistic me. The fairy tale me want's another sb more than ever.
We will face the Eagles in a couple weeks IMO. It'll be a good test.
Cowher just rejected the Jets job. They'll probably look to hire Spags
anyone think the G-Men will bring Toomer back after this season?
Browns will hire Mangini. Spags is a threat for either the Denver or Jets job I would think. I doubt he is truly interested in the Lions. There may be other jobs open post playoffs.
Toomer I don't think is coming back, simply b/c he doesn't bring as much to the table right now. If he takes a huge paycut than maybe, but I think his time might be done even if Plax isn't gonna be back.
Right now the Eagles/Minny is tight. Obviously if Minny wins we face Arizona. If not we face the Eagles. I'd rather play the Cardinals at the Meadowlands on a cold day. Their one dimensional passing O won't cut it in a game like that.
definitely rooting for the Vikes today... Philly D has looked real good the past few weeks & i much rather face the Cards' inexperienced team in the playoffs.
Damn Eagles score on a screen.....
Vikes down by 2 scores w/6 minutes left to play... looks like we're playing Philly next week... should be yet another hard fought game between these 2 teams.
I am deathly afraid of the Eagles. Philly reminds me of the Giants of last year. They already owned us once at home only a few weeks ago and they are on a big hot streak right now. I hope we come in with our heads in the game and remember the embarrassment the Eagles gave us a while back.
i have faith in Eli & our running attack... sucks that we don't have Plax tho, he always used to kill the Eagles... i think Toomer is gonna have a big catch in this game, maybe even a game changer... just a feeling... also think they need to have Hixon back returning kicks & punts... he's a playmaker on special teams & that can be huge especially in the postseason... McQuarters is worthless & Bradshaw has not been the playmaker he was last year for us.
it's gonna be important to get our safeties up on coverage to spy Brian Westbrook, cuz we cannot have our LBers trying to cover this dude coming out of the backfield, he's just way too quick... let Donovan try to beat u downfield & stuff Brian Westbrook & we should win next week.

Agree. I don't know if I'm deathly afraid of them but I do think they pose as our biggest threat, just because they know our schemes.
We know these guys well too and we have plenty of time to prepare for them. The key is we can't let Pierce get isolated on Westbrook. They don't have the weapons outside of Westbrook to really hurt us. It would make a lot of sense to bring up Phillips as a nickle LB and have him guard Westbrook.
that's exactly what i think... play Phillips as a nickle Safety & have him spy Westbrook all game long... he's a hard hitter so he will help on run D as well... we can play 7 in the box on most sets & dare McNabb to beat us over the top... just can't let Westbrook break any big plays on screens & draw plays cuz that's their biggest play threat on offense.
& the Giants know the Eagles just as well as they know us, so there's no advantage to either team... everytime these 2 teams play it's a war & i expect no different next week.
