Plax didn't wanna be here... he made that clear to Jerry Reece w/his actions ever since the incident occurred... Giants had no choice but to release him or trade him, & no team was gonna trade for him w/his situation up in the air as it was... the Giants will move on just like they did when Shockey was traded & Tiki retired... we'll be fine.

Boley out 8-10 weeks with a torn hip-flexor.. that really sucks, he's going to have a hard time learning this defense in time for opening day now.

This one really hurts us. We have some more LB depth now then we did before, but we're basically talking about throwing out a lot of last years linebackers, and that's not ideal. Boley's speed was gonna be an important addition.
SupremeCommander @ 6/29/2009 10:11 AM
yeah I saw it and yeah it sucks.. he was by far the most import FA addition... I mean, I love the DT depth and I think Canty will be a beast... but the LB corps is exposed again. Guys like Brian Westbrook and Jason Witten are going to eat up the middle of the field...

Looks like Plax is gonna be suspended by the NFL for the year. ONce again the Giants knew what they were doing.

Jerry Reese is always thinking 3 steps ahead... gotta love the guy

Ugh.. more bad news for Boley.
NFL suspended Giants WLB Michael Boley one game for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

You figured this might happen because of the run-in he had earlier this year, but this is off to one hell of a rocky start..

What did he do? And, yes, it is off to one hell of a start and part of me wants him gone already

Man, the commish ain't playing. He should readdress the performance enhancement policy because 4 games is a joke.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Atlanta Falcons linebacker Michael Boley is free on bond after being arrested on a charge of battery on his wife early Saturday morning, Gwinnett County police officials said Monday. Officers were called to Boley's home in Duluth about 1:30 a.m. Saturday to investigate a domestic violence call. According to a police report, Boley and his wife had a verbal argument that escalated when Boley became physical with her.

The officer found probable cause to arrest Boley for battery and determined that he was the primary aggressor, officials said. No children were directly involved in this incident.

Boley bonded out of the Gwinnett County Detention Center on the same day on a $1,200 bond.

Falcons spokesman Reggie Roberts would say only, "The Falcons organization is aware of the situation and will have no comment at this time."

The battery charge is a misdemeanor. If Boley has a second or subsequent conviction of a domestic violence battery, then the charge becomes a felony.

Not sure this is such a big deal re: Boley cause he probably wasn't gonna suit up for week 1 anyway

No I agree Des... just seems like we just signed the guy and it's been one thing after the other already. Hopefully this is where it ends for him.

Nicks is drawing rave reviews from the defense...
When asked who will be the "breakout, under-the-radar" guy for the Giants this season, DL Chris Canty said rookie WR Hakeem Nicks.
Canty said he's been impressed by all the plays Nicks made in the vertical passing game in practice. But just how many snaps Nicks is on the field for is in doubt. He has at least Domenik Hixon and Mario Manningham to beat out for playing time.

Nicks was the guy I wanted way back when because his hands are as good as they get and he brings polish to boot. I'd be shocked if he couldn't beat out either Hixon or Manningham even in spite of experience. By the end of the season Nicks will be a better player than both and I expect a similar progression to Steve Smith's rookie season
