This gave me a big woody. Barden caught this pass.

In the middle article, Mosley asks Reese specifically about Barden and Mosley says he's been the camp MVP thus far. I gotta say I was definitely doubtful about him because of things he didn't do well but I think I kind of overlooked the things he does well. I'm starting to think he's going to be another Jerry Reese special, a small school steal like Jacobs

I agree. I like the statement from Reese about small school players standing out in their league. I think Barden and Nicks will be huge for the Giants. I am really dismayed that Boley is out.

New York Giants rookie running back Andre Brown tore the Achilles’ tendon in his left leg and will be lost for the season.

This sucks ass but injuries are part of the sport.
TMS @ 8/15/2009 4:48 AM
OUCH!... good thing we still have Danny Ware.
SupremeCommander @ 8/18/2009 11:01 AM
anyone know anything about that rookie DB Woodson? Granted I was wasted but he looked good last night

Giants didn't look good in game 2 but they have a lot of people out on both lines right now.

pre-season don't mean jack anyways.

the results don't mean jack but the storylines do... meaning the new additions are all unhealthy and there hasn't been a big performance by a WR yet
TMS @ 8/24/2009 1:14 PM
i've seen this team for 0-4 in the pre-season so many times at this point i don't even watch the pre-season games anymore... they're meaningless.

very, very interesting
CANTY INVESTS IN BLOOD BANK

By LENN ROBBINS

August 27, 2009 --

If the new treatment Chris Canty underwent on Monday for his torn hamstring works out, years from now the "Canty Procedure" might be as much apart of our sports lexicon as Tommy John surgery.

Doctors removed some of Canty's blood and placed in a high-speed centrifuge to enhance the platelet count, then injected the blood directly into his hamstring in hopes of stimulating the healing process.

The early response is encouraging. The Giants defensive end jogged on the sidelines during practice yesterday.

"There's a little bit more to it than that, but that's the nuts and bolts of it," said Canty, who said the only time he got a little squeamish was when he saw the size of the vile of blood that had been removed.

Canty wouldn't commit to his availability for the Sept. 13 season opener against Washington, but he was a lot more optimistic about his condition yesterday than earlier in the week. Canty said he went to the training staff and pressed them for any options to help speed his recovery.

"You can maybe feel all right walking but you don't play football walking," Canty said. "You have to run. You have to be able to spring. You have to able to do athletic movements. That's the real test."

*

Every Giants fan is wondering which wide receiver will help fill the void created by the loss of Plaxico Burress. Derek Hagan made a sensational reaching catch to end yesterday's practice.

didn't they win only one preseason game in 2007 and got blown out the first two season games and they went on to win the super bowl that year? they have a new defensive coordinator and adjustment at wide receiver position. so don't expect them to blaze a trail in the first month.

I know I'm jumping the gun a bit but I just do not see any way David Tyree sticks on the roster. So thank you Mr. Tyree, for standout special teams play and The Hat Trick
VDesai @ 9/6/2009 3:57 PM
Not exactly going out on a limb there on Tyree, who had 7 talented players ahead of him and couldn't get healthy enough to keep himself on the field. His special teams play had fallen off quite a bit in the preseason as well, and for his heroics he had no chance of making it this year. He was a great Giant while he was here and will forever be remembered by any Giants fan from this generation.

Hakeem Nicks actually lead the NFL in recieving yards in preseason. Won't be long till he takes over a starting role at WR and entrenches himself as the no.1. Can't wait to see him work more with Eli.

One thing to look for that we saw a lot more of in the preseason was the running backs catching the ball. Last year it was basically only Derek Ward in that role, but we saw Brandon Jacobs and Danny Ware catch TD's in the preseason, and if Jacobs really starts catching the ball, watch out!
TMS @ 9/10/2009 8:57 AM
sorta old news but Jay Alford is out for the season getting surgery on his ACL

Not sure the reasoning for the dig or whatever, especially because I was just giving Tyree some love--and especially because the rest of your post wasn't exactly going out on a limb either. But, hey, at least this offseason we didn't have to endure your lofty claims of Wilkinson and Kehl being future mainstays
