I've had enough of this offense not scoring points because of shitty playcalling. Fire Gilbride.
You drunk?

No...
This is the Giants. We have 35 minutes of possession against the worst team in the NFL and only scored 17 points. We have not played well enough offensively. Against a better team we would be losing.
GKFv2@ 9/27/2009 4:25 PM
A win is a win but the offense plays too conservative. It needs some creative play calling. I'll lay off Gilbride because even he cannot stop the talent of the Giants offense. They have weapons and Eli is a beast.
D dominated today. Good stuff and without Tuck too.
Hopefully McKenzie will be OK.
3-0 baby!

The offense did what it needed to do. We relied heavy on the running game because it was starting to pick up. We needed to get those guys going so it was a good game to do that.
VDesai@ 9/27/2009 9:55 PM
Today was about as easy as it gets. Defense was absolutely dominant and the running game was rolling. Any game where you can put David Carr in without it being an injury replacement is a good day for the G-Men.
TMS@ 9/28/2009 1:27 AM
we gotta keep beating up on the next 2 weak teams cuz there's some tough matchups coming up soon after... 3-0! can't complain about that!

Granted I didn't see the game (because it's impossible--at least I saw the Vikings/Niners game) but it appears as though Gilbride executed the gameplan. The Giants don't typically score a lot because they don't risk turnovers and excercise ball control... I am okay with this
VDesai@ 9/28/2009 10:39 AM
We missed a chipshot FG and were inefficient in the redzone again (though we did manage to get in there yesterday). The redzone playcalling is somewhat of an issue- we are very tentative and not throwing much into the endzone. However, I think a lot of our lack of success stems from the fact that Jacobs hasn't been running well down there. With our RB corps being thin right now, I think they've asked Jacobs to be a little less agressive in going after contact so he doesn't get banged up as much.
TMS@ 9/28/2009 10:41 AM
Giants were running the ball at will yesterday & Eli was spreading the ball around when he had to make a pass... i don't see what the problem is... Eli only played 3 quarters pretty much, we called off the dogs in the 4th quarter.

LOL. If you listened to the game at all, you would have heard Tony Saragusa and Darryl Johnson proclaiming that Jacobs needs to LEARN to use his body so he can play like he's running downhill b/c Jacobs doesn't know just how big and strong he is.
Last time I checked, Jacobs was well aware of his physical talents (He is somewhat arrogant) and knows perfectly well how to bulldoze over people.
Exhibit A:
Exhibit B:
With all of that being said, Jacobs has to pick it up. He's off to a slow start.

I would love to see some sort of redzone package where we get Manningham and Hagan on the outside and Smith in the slot. I would love to see the Giants try and make use of both Hagan and Manningham's height and physicality in the redzone with some fades and jumpballs. These guys are both routinely much bigger than the CB's covering them.

Hagan yes, but Manningham is only 5'11". I would love to see Barden get into the mix.

Manningham might only be 5'11 but he can jump through the roof and his sheer physicality is too much cover inside the 5 yard line. you're right though, Barden would be a nice option there too.

we've been seeing Travis Beckum come in on packages lately... i think they're trying to work him more into the mix... i haven't even seen Ramses Barden play 1 snap yet, has anyone else? i really wanna see what that kid can do w/all that height & size.

Yeah I agree about Barden dude.. I think he's last on the depth chart because I've seen Hagan and Moss in and not him yet.
I did like the fact that they ran a screen play for Beckum yesterday, he didn't do much with it, but I think with his strength and size that is going to work often.

dude, Slingbox and an extra DRV at your parents' place.
trust me we're looking into all options... right now I'm not sure slingbox will work. I technically have internet, but it doesn't work. Maybe one out of every seven days. So dad Tivo's the games, rips them to DVD, sends them to my company, they pay shipping, and I get them 7-10 days later.
But if you have an ideal setup, please please PLEASE tell me because the fact htat I can't drink domestic brew, eat wings, and yell at Skins/Cowboys fans at the sports pub is driving me mad

What's the deal with your internet?
VDesai@ 9/29/2009 2:20 PM
Ramses got in a couple of times against Tampa. Nicks is isn't very tall but he's extremely physical and has great hands. I think he's gonna be great in the redzone. Also when you can put Boss, Beckum, Barden and Nicks all in their at once that's a mismatch

I'd say the better question is "what's the deal with Libyan infrastructure?" but then again road, water, and sewage are only considered infrastructure
and then the IT guys have to cover four different compounds and have the same work ethic as Bip's search function work ethic
