You guys say Jimmy Johnson is done but wouldnt that hold true for Cowher too? He is pretty old too.
Spags sounds tempting. You all think TC would definitely be the one to get the boot should we not make it far... next season?

something a little positive for us Gmen fans. It's hard right now w/ the Jets in a big playoff game and our team focused on Eli winning the double stuff oreo racing league...

Cowher is not old. He is 52, which in coaching years is a pup. He's 11 years younger than Coughlin and 14 years younger than Jimmy Johnson.

he also wanted to be close to his family, i think his daughter goes to school in the area... the Giants' job is said to be his dream position i think he's waiting for the position to open up even tho he'll never openly campaign for it because of his respect for the Mara & Tisch families & for Tom Coughlin as Jerome Bettis indicated... Jimmy Johnson's been out of coaching so long & has never taken any number of dream positions since then, including the Giants' position that was opened when TC took over & he was working in the Fox Studio... i think he's happy where he is now... Cowher strikes me as a guy who would come back to coach the G-men, or he'll stay retired... the signs seem to point to that direction.
we just hired Robert Nunn from TB to be our D-Line coach.
just curious, anyone watching the pro bowl... does anyone even give a crap about the NFL probowl?
at least we got 2 G-men starting on the O Line... congrats to Shaun O'hara & David Diehl... & Steve Smith made it as a reserve... dunno if anyone else made it this year.
Chris Snee at the Pro Bowl too... this game is so meaningless, but it's funny to see these guys making trick plays & lateralling the ball on every interception.
good catch by smith but deshuan jax is the truth! man, we have to face him two times in a year nxt year?
Maybe we should convert to the 3-4. Rumor has it that Julius Peppers is interested in being a backer. I know it is a pipe dream, but I'd love to sign a rusher like Peppers...
.....Peppers, who grew up in Bailey, N.C., and played in college at North Carolina, said last offseason that he wanted to leave his home state and play as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense. Peppers skipped all offseason workouts, but had little leverage with the franchise tag and signed the one-year tender before training camp.....

he is Philly's most dangerous weapon, no doubt about it.
Osi is being an ass. Maybe we should trade him and seriously entertain Peppers.
In an interview with radio station WFAN Wednesday, Giants DE Usi Umenyiora insisted he will quit football if he's not starting for the Giants in 2010.
"I'm not going to be a back up player, I can promise you that," Umenyiora said. "I'll stop playing football before I do that ever again. This has been just the worst offseason of my entire life." Umenyiora is still livid over his late-season benching. New coordinator Perry Fewell has already started mending fences, hinting that he sees Umenyiora as a full-time player. Feb. 3 - 4:19 pm et

Have you seen the Giants linebackers?

Yes, we'd need an upgrade for sure. Although I do like Sintim...

i like Sintim too... dude looks like a DE almost... if Osi's back next year, then we'll have 2 big OLB's in Kiwa & Sintim who can rush the passer next season, we'll just need to upgrade our MLB to replace Pierce & get more depth in our porous secondary.
Osi needs to grow some balls- talking about how he's gonna retire if he's not a starter. Dude needs to get back in playing shape, shut up and play football. With that kind of mentality I'm not sure how much I really want to have him on the team if we can get something good back in a trade.
AP was cut.. Karlos Dansby is being mentioned as a possible replacement, but he'll be expensive so I'm guessing the Giants draft for need this year
I think we pay some cash for a MLB - hard to draft at that position and expect someone to start and start well. Not sure who is out there on FA this year, but Dansby could be a nice fit.
Dansby would be a huge addition, but to me he's more of a fit at OLB in a 4-3 (he's an ILB in the 3-4) and we'd still need to figure out a way to replace Pierce. Not that Pierce was bringing a lot to the table anymore. Clearly he's lost a few steps and then you add the injury and age on top of it- so it made sense to let him go.
i say trade Osi for a pick & then sign Julius Peppers
Hopefully Osi will just grow a set. I think Fewell can be good for him. He's not gonna have a lot of value right now because he still hasn't proven he's back from his injury. He doesn't seem to realize that himself.

Best case scenario
