i think the only way to change anything w/Eli is to change the offensive system & get back to being more of a run committed offense to cut down on Eli's opportunities for turnovers... that will help to conserve our defense too & keep them off the field... only problem w/that is we become so much more predictable & boring to watch... but if it wins games for us i'm game to do whatever it takes to make sure Eli doesn't throw another ridiculous 25 INT's next year.

Eli had a great season. I think you guys are over reacting to Eli having Interceptions no doubt 25 is a high number but that wasn't the problem it was part of the problem. It was the play calling, they are relying on the pass to often. That makes for a lot of three and outs. A good number of Eli's picks were balls that hit the receives in the hand and bounced into the opponents hand that can't be put on Eli. Personally I don't like the way the play calling went this year. I like the grind it out games Giant Football, not some pass happy team that we saw. Remember guys Eli put these number up with receives going down. 30+ TD is no joke. Eli did some stupid shyt with the ball this year that has to be corrected like the left handed pass that was intercepted in the end zone in the Titans game left me scratching my head. The Line needs an upgrade. I saw no reason to go away from the line that gave up no sacks in I think 5 games or so to make room for O'Hara that was a huge mistake and cost the Eagles game and the Packs game as the running game was working big time with that make shift O-line. Another thing in that Eagles game it was the play calling that did the Giants in a few runs instead of passes kills almost minute of time leaving the Eagles with no time to complete the comeback. I know hind sight is 20/20 but lets be real you can't tell me you weren't screaming for a run play in the Eagles game towards the end just to kill time.

COMPLETELY agree about the O-line

Agree w/ you TMS. Pittsburgh isn't boring or predictable and they ran the ball 35 times yesterday and continue to run, run, run, even with Big Ben at the helm.

word up... also, i think we can mix in some gimmick plays to catch other teams off guard too... i don't remember the last time we tried one... back in the day Parcells used to make good use of the flee flicker play for big gains every so often... our offensive play calling seems so predictable at times, even when we're committing to a vertical attack.

we tried a direct snap to bradshaw with disastrous results against GB.

the entire team's execution was crap that game... a direct snap to the RB has low upside of a positive outcome & isn't exactly what i had in mind.

Experimenting a play meant for a wild card offense is reserved for preseason or garbage time or meaningless games.... for this team. There was no place for that play in such a big game. That was a horrible call.
Our top 3 priorities should be to get Manning, Jacobs and Bradshaw to right themselves when it comes to their turnovers. All 3 of them had bad TOs during a lot of points of the season.
Beef up toe O-Line.
Get better linebackers.
Get our receivers healthy.
Get another cornerback.
VDesai wrote:There's work to do, but having healthy recievers and a healthy o-line will make some difference. So will having a better returner back there. We were 1 win from the division and 2 from the number 1 seed. Its amazing that our season basically came down to 8 minutes against the Eagles.
I applaud you for finding the silver lining... and though you're right, the team flat our didn't deserve to be a playoff team... ugh
Jacobs in nasty mood leaving Giants locker room Article Comments more in New York
Associated Press
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs was in a nasty mood leaving the locker room after packing his belongings on Monday.
Carrying a plastic garbage bag, Jacobs was walking to the exit when photographers and writers tried to ask him a few questions about the end of the season. Instead of stopping, Jacobs scowled.
"Click. Click. Click," he said sarcastically, making the sound of a picture being taken.
Jacobs then told everyone in ear shot that they must be wondering whether this is the last time they will be seeing the big running back in the locker room. Jacobs then uttered an expletive and left.
Jacobs rushed for 823 yards on 147 carries, a 5.6 yard average. He scored nine touchdowns. However, he had a difficult season. He lost his starting job to Ahmad Bradshaw in training camp and didn't get it back until Bradshaw had trouble with fumbles more than halfway through the season. Even when Jacobs was the starter, though, Bradshaw still received more carries.
Bradshaw, who will be a free agent, led the team with 1,235 yards rushing on 276 carries, a 4.5 yard average.
If there is a 2011 season, it's unclear whether Jacobs or Bradshaw will be in the backfield. If they are, though, they might be able to do some damage, at least at home.
The Giants, who take a 10-6 mark into the offseason, can begin plans for their next schedule, and that slate will have home games vs. Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington, St. Louis, Seattle, Green Bay, Buffalo and Miami. Only the Eagles, Seahawks and Packers, on that list, made this year's postseason.
On the road, New York will meet Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington, Arizona, San Francisco, New Orleans, New England and the Jets, which, of course, will host the Giants in New Meadowlands Stadium.

best team in the division deserves to be in the playoffs, for better or worse. Otherwise there's no point to even having divisional games

i think it's ridiculous that two 10-6 teams are sitting at home watching the playoffs & you have a 7-9 team that's still alive... but the system is what it is.

I agree with you but I hate to point the finger at Seattle... they did what they needed to do. Our boys, on the other hand, gifted a game to Philly, didn't show up against Green Bay, and what about that game against Dallas?

yeah the Seahawks beat the Rams in week 17 but they lost 3 games straight prior to that & 5 out of their last 7, 1 of those losses to a crappy SF team... they should have locked up that division a long time ago, but they didn't... the Giants crapped their chances away too in their final 2 games, i'm not denying this, but personally i don't think Seattle deserves to be in the playoffs... if anything i think the Bucs deserve to be in there considering they won 3 out of their last 4 games to finish with a 10-6 record & beat the Seahawks & Saints the final 2 weeks of the season.
