DALLAS - The Dallas Stars dropped the gloves and took a shot at the NBA referee scandal as part of its campaign to sell seats for the 2007-08 season.
A billboard near the American Airlines Center, the building the Stars share with the Dallas Mavericks, carries the message: “The only thing we shave is the ice.”
The Stars’ “come into the cold” ads didn’t bother Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, according to the Dallas Morning News.
“I think it’s hysterical,” Cuban told the newspaper. “Good for them. It’s a fun ad.”
The campaign is the creation of the Stars and Austin-based ad agency Door Number 3.
The Stars didn’t take a swipe at the NBA without some reservations, Stars president Jim Lites told the newspaper.
“It’s edgy. But we’re really good friends with the Mavs. They’re our partners in the building. I think we thought it would be taken the right way,” Lites told the Morning News.

It's kind of funny though.
Playa, talk about a sensational headline. "NHL rips....." is more like somthing of a conspiricy.
Its not the "NHL", its a club with a local billboard.
Playa, do you go to any Sabres games? Hockey in person is a great game. Sucks on TV. Also, the best seats are about halfway up, which lowers the price also.
Great catch pharse
