NBA · How good is Byron SCOTT as jersey's coach in finals? (page 2)

Looks like Playa wrong again... what a surprise!! ROFLMAO

Bottom line is these coaches have egos just like the players do, but the only difference is if you don't win it all as a coach(phil jackson) you can't be stubborn or you will lose your players ala jeff vangundy when spree cussed him out in practice and gave him the finger and then few days later, vandummy quit the knicks. Rick Caryle won 50 games two seasons in a row , but couldn't get along with upper management, bad communication and now Byron Scott who thinks he can run a team in the ground when personel when obvious changes weren't made in big games against the spurs. They all are young and don't know the politics of the NBA yet. Pike get a clue

THE "DOWN LOW"on coaching the NETS in the finals:
Scott made Jordan responsible for coaching the offense and felt secure enough with himself to allow Jordan to address the players before games.

But according to sources, Scott and Jordan stopped talking during the NBA Finals over a disagreement. Speculation is that Jordan wanted Scott to play Dikembe Mutombo more minutes. Isn't this the reason JasonKidd said his lil son TJ could have coached a better game 6 than Byron Scott?
Now this is what i tried to tell know it alls who think they know the game, Scott blew the series Jordan knew deke had spurs changing their scheme while he was on the court. Get ya facts straight people , you know who you are!

Byron Scott: ... yet another getting a raw deal from PLAYA!

Probably cuz at some point, in some interview nobody really saw or cared about, Scott lightly praised JVG.

Pike @ 7/16/2003 6:53 PM
Nah, you can't deuce any logic from Playa's comments... except, if Playa thinks Scott's a horrible coach, he has to be pretty good.
playa2 @ 7/17/2003 7:29 AM
Never said he was a horrible coach, matter of fact he coached fine in the series before the FINALS. Now when the finals came he stunk up the joint with some of his rotations and stubborn tactics against DIKEMBE MUTUMBO. Stop denying the facts pikey ya act is getting tired.
ARES @ 7/17/2003 9:38 AM
pike no one reallt puts any stock in any of playa's sports related opininons , you know he don't know nothing he cant help it.

Bergen Record: The Nets made a big production of Wednesday's news conference to announce the signing of Alonzo Mourning, but after it was over, coach Byron Scott announced that his starting center at this moment is ... Dikembe Mutombo. I see Byron Scott doesn't want to end up like Rick Caryle, he knew he blew the series with the spurs and this is why he's making a point to announce that Deke is the starting center. But was Scott so blind to see when Deke dove for the loose rebound and called time out how the "WHOLE NETS BENCH" came out to help him up and were pumped up and inspired by his efforts and Scott didn't play him that much after? Holla
