Here is a better video if you ahev not seen him play yet of what he can bring to the table for 7 feet tall. It shows his agility athletiscm and explosion.

can he do anything but dunk?
VDesai @ 1/1/2008 7:13 PM
This guy is an extremely intriguing player, very big, very athletic. But man he is so raw right now. Really the only thing he can do right now is dunk from close in- he's shooting some ridiculous percentage but he talks all easy shots. He's horrendous at the line. An absolute disaster in every sense.

I think you have a long ways to go with a player like this but he could pay off big time with the right coaching. Question is do we have the patience and the coahing and we've had neither from this organization in the last few years.

Dwight Howard?

Well he has to mature a lot more physically. Its crazy to think that Dwight Howard came into the NBA with that kind of upper body strength. Guy was a physical specimin. I think with Jordan you still have a long way to go there...and when I say Horrendous from the FT line, I mean, I'm not sure he can break 40% Dwight Howard is no Mark Price but at least he's making around 60%. So I think as a Freshman in college he's still a few years behind Dwight Howard's development path right now. He should be really good defensively rather soon just because he's such a quick twitch athlete for a big guy. With the right coaching he should block a lot of shots.

I'd like to see Isiah castrated and caned before we draft/trade for another bigman.

This team needs to be assimilated for 3 years from now. The roster we have now has to be purged. Now the odds say we won't have pick 1 anyway---but this wasn't really a Knick thread anyway--unless we actually do have pick 1. If we do--we will take the best player available and that is Jordan. We have to remember all of these top prospects are freshmen anyway and will need time.

the kid is 20 years old.

he reminds me of a young Dikembe in that clip... very long arms & somewhat lanky movement, but powerful dunks... do u know of any clips of him handling the ball or shooting a midrange shot?

too raw to be this yr's first pick

say Briggs what are your thoughts about Beasley?
Klytus @ 1/2/2008 9:06 AM
When you are the worst team in the league, you take the BPA regardless of position. If DeAndre Jordan is the best player, you take him. Even if you still have that fat slob Eddy Curry on the team.

Dikembe might be a very good comp when you consider his raw athleticism. He doesn't have that same defensive instinct yet, but he can get there. He is quick laterally and quick leaper.
TMS @ 1/2/2008 9:21 AM
you know my thoughts on our needs for a shotblocker dude... if this kid can bring that aspect to this team, i'm all for going after him... hopefully we end up w/a top pick this year.

BEASLEY IS A BEAST!!! WE SHOULD GET HIM.
BRIGGS @ 3/30/2015 2:09 PM
I was wrong here-but I bet he was better pick than Gallo. He couldve easily be a KNick today. Big misses and failure to use the drafting system changed the fortunes of the franchise

Most draft boards had him number 1 all through the year and fell out of the first round.

I'm sure Phil and Dolan will get it right this time

We don't have the system in NY to guide and develop young players. Had we draft DJ, he probably would have been a marginal player. The media in NY might have a lot to do with the poor success of this team. Our owner needs to model what the Giants owner has done the last decades. The NY Giants owner don't make decisions based on media pressure.
