We are seriously messed up as a nation if we are not troubled by a Presidential candidate speaking openly about "obliterating" another country. Americans should be outrage by a statemenst such as this but then again with the "thinking" that is being done in which some Americans view nuclear wars as some kind of football game; it really is not surprising that she would win even ONE vote after making such a dangerous statement.
I had professor in college who was a devout Peace Activist and through his travels he had the opportunity to meet Japanese who were living in Japan during the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. One evening he invited our class to meet them and hear their stories because he (without actually voicing it)wanted us to get a sense of the reprecussions of nuclear attacks. These bombs were dropped over 60 years ago and when they showed us pictures, different pieces of art work, and talked about the effects I had a chill go down my spine. We cannot even comprehend the devastation and not to just the people killed in the immediate blast (they actually may have been the lucky ones) but the after effects that is still present 60 years later. So whenever I hear people talk about Nuclear War lightly I can only shake my head at their ignorance or complete apathy for human life. If a nuclear war were to ever take place, the world as we know it would be over. Because Einstein once said "I do not know with what weapons World War 3 will be fought, but World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones."
Major,
If you weren't aware of this but the United States's government particularly this administration is the greatest offender of creating instability in the Middle East. By their foolishly starting a war in which an entire country has been torn apart not mention the over million citizens that have been killed, by their hypocriscy on who they demonize, by their xenphobic foreign policies, by having the audacity to act as some kind of moral authority on everything nuclear weapons when they continue to violate non-prolifieration treaties, and pop quiz time who is the biggest manufacture of weapons? Well lets just say it isn't Iran. So when our troops are being killed in Iraq, Afghanistan, at the end of that weapon' serial number in many cases you will find a American manufacture at the end. So if we want to stop the violence crack down on these War Profiteers at home. Yea right

The problem with Obama is no one knows his positions

Oh right it must have slipped my mind, the middle east has been a beacon of light and peace long before this administration took office. Ok and I have a bridge I'd like to sell you!
And please show me where the majority of our troops in Iraq and even in Afghanistan are being killed with American made weapons?!?!? Most of our troops in Iraq are being killed by IED's. Iranian made.
Also please show me where you got the figure of over 1 MILLION Iraqi citizens being killed during this war? I think you got that confused with how many Saddam killed when he was in power.

Most estimates are in the hundred thousands, not millions. Does that give you some kind of relief? Our war of choice has led to the deaths of about 100 maybe more 9/11s

Well the US has sold weapons into this particular area way before this administration too!!! For example during the Iran-Iraq war to both enemies!

Yes, becuase all the gov't wants is war. All that rich people want is war. I heard that we almost went to war with Best Buy when prices of Blu-ray players began dropping but that we reached a deal and now they are expensive again. Good thing too, the gov't and rich people woulda kicked the crap outta them.
Posted by playa2:
Do you all think that possibly the gov't is deliberatly letting the gas prices soar like this & affecting EVERYTHING we purchase to try & trick the people that this war is needed because of the oil ?
I believe ALL the rich are involved , both Democrats & Republicans , plus "other" world leaders & the affluent everwhere .

Too bad she has acted so poorly recently in terms of her personality and some stupid attempt to use Obama's remarks against him. Instead of attacking her opponent--she should ve always stayed on issue because I feel she would be quite good a good leader if put in power. She hurts herself.
You know, have you guys went over to youtube for instance and since day one, there's been nothing but dirty, negative videos on her. From day one!!! And if you look at obama's videos, they're all respectful. It's no wonder she has a personality, with all the negative crap that's been thrown out there with obama's people. FROM DAY ONE!
Take those things into account before any of you go talking about her' attacking anyone. obama and especially all of his supporters are no angels themselves.

If I put something like this out there about your boy obama, you'd be screaming racism left and right!

4949,
Why would you vote for someone who lies to your face? People vote for Bush too knowing he lies and I can't figure it out.
60 something percent of Democrats don't trust her, yet she still somehow wins primaries. 19% of PA folks said their votes were based partially on race.
The electorate is f*cked. This country had better wake up now and put five minutes into researching the candidates before they vote this year.
She's going on trial this summer in LA for illegal fundraising. That should be entertaining. Why hasn't that been in the media though? I wonder if Obama might garner a tiny bit of media attention if him and his wife were going to be on trial.

4949,
Why would you vote for someone who lies to your face?
We'll find out who the real liar is soon enough.
Why would you even think of asking' me such a question? Did I ask anyone here why they would vote for barack? obama backers treat everyone else like criminals. That's kind of insulting. It's not barack that makes me nervous. It's his backers and the people who run his campaign, which are a bunch of back door chicagoans that make me nervous. They already hinted to the supers that your either with us or against us. That is not' the way to run a campaign. Total bullshit! And I'll never back him because of it. I'll take my chances with Hillary as a 'representative' of women all over.
Some of you forget that barack hasn't closed anything here and there's this assumption that he's already locked up the nomination. WATCH OUT! And the fact that the supers haven't gone piling onto to his campaign yet says a lot. Unless he gets that 2,025 delegates, nothings closed.

You been deeply disappointed in her anyways, no matter what she says or does. You guys still fail to understand that she's a woman fighting a mans world. This is how it is for women. But judging from the remarks by many of you about the Anucha Brown case (and yes, you showed your colors) in your eyes, no woman would have a chance in hell at any kind of power.

You still haven't addressed the point that Obama has never praised McCain as being superior to Hillary even though Hillary has praised him as being superior to Obama on national security. Hillary has put herself above her party. I challenge you to come up with examples of where Obama has done the same.
4949 @ 4/26/2008 9:25 AM
Well then good for you on voting for Hillary and you have a right to vote for whoever you'd like.

I brought the issue but didn't phrase it as a question before. Now that I have brought it up again and this time phrased it as a question, I still challenge you to address it. So, when has Obama put himself ahead of the party (like Hillary has) by praising McCain at the expense of the other Democratic candidate?
4949 @ 4/26/2008 7:00 PM
I'm not really sure what the question means. To me that a bunch of 'ass kissing' that your talking about. This is about having the top job in the U.S. Nothing's fair. Especially in this campaign
But as far as Hillary putting herself above her own party? Your wrong about that Bonn! You either don't understand the momentum factor in a traditional Democratic party campaign or your trying to twist this around on me, in the eyes of others.
The way it goes is 'once a campaign begins, from the beginning a candidate tries to convince voters that he's the guy to vote for. As the campaign goes along, something, at some point happens that is significant. Traditionally, voters start to jump on one candidates band wagon and soon the supers see this and go piling on also. Before you know it, the campaign is finished within a few months.
it's a no brainer that, that' candidate will get to the 2,025. Agreed? Now, with that said, were is barack? He's way too short of that goal.
In saying this, Hillary has every right to still be running and it's not her fault that he's not getting to the promised land.
You gotta remember, he never had great momentum to begin with and when that happens, the foe will keep running. And also remember people, Hillary had momentum and the lead overall until the end of super Tuesday. Then came the rural states (or overwhelmingly black populations) for awhile. The little things he was projected to pick up.
And if your so concerned about 'the party's health' then why didn't you ask why obama was putting himself above his own party at the time, when Hillary had the lead? It almost looks two faced.
And after super tuesday came and went, then came the obvious dynamics that no one knew about and kept him in the lead. What I'm getting at though is, if he was so lovable, so convincible, then how come he hasn't been nominated by now? And Hillary should drop out??
For anyone to accuse her of 'ruining' the campaign would be like me saying Donald Trump has billions of dollars (as if there was something wrong with that) or that barack is ruining the campaign by being in the campaign. Those are ridiculous assumptions. Hillary has as much right to still be running as obama. She's even challenged the voters that 'if you want him then close the deal'! They obviously didn't want him.
I'll ask you this. 'Why doesn't obama quit the campaign? He's obviously ruining the Democratic party! He hasn't been nominated and is dragging Hillary down with him'!
See how stupid that sounds?
If you want to blame anyone, blame yourselves for running a negative campaign, and turning off potential barack voters, like myself and blame all of the people, in all the states who voted for her. But don't blame her. She's only' running for President.
