well, since a lot of people saw iron man and liked it on this board, how many of you are going to see the incredible hulk? i wish i can see it tonight at midnight but tomorrow is the last day i teach so staying up until 3 a.m. wouldn't be productive. i will see it saturday with my son. can't wait. i was a BIG fan of the show when i was little so this will be exciting. as long as it has more action than the last one.

not sure if I will get there this weekend but I am very much looking forward. One of the things that was great about IronMan is they stayed pretty true to the comic book. That supposed to be the case w/ Hulk this time as well. Abomination was always one of his best villians. Also Hulk was a founding member of the Avengers (probably why Stark/IronMan are casted in the movie) so I am looking forward to see how that unfolds.

Should be better acting, story closer to the original... I am looking forward bigtime

i was one of the few that actually like the first movie. but they fudged it up by forcing woo to add that disgusting ending. and all those post production sound bites to make it seem like the hulk didn't kill any soldier. weak.

all i want to know is will there be a mr. mcgee?

I thought that in the first movie the ending with Nick Nolte distracted from the rest of the movie.

As much as I like Edward Norton and Tim Roth, I'm really going to wait on the reviews with this one.

I'm pumped. I've been watching the Hulk marathon on Sci-fi until my eyes are red. Brings back so many memories. Mr. McGee would be a nice touch if he is added.

the promo's and trailers basically give away the whole movie tho...

Definately. I saw a comercial 2 nights ago that had Tony Starks rambling in it. I was pissed. Why? People want to be shocked and awed when they see the film. They already leaked that Tony would be in the film but damn....we don't need to see him in the commercial! Its annoying.

I was so turned off by the first one, I probably won't see this one unless I see raving reviews. Really enjoyed Ironman though.

One slightly annoying thing tho. The last three Marvel movies have all had the hero fighting a souped up alter ego (Spiderman, Ironman, Hulk). What gives? How about some cool villians?!
knicksbabyyeah @ 6/12/2008 10:29 AM
how about more then one villain

Every hero has a villian with similiar make up. Its all good.

What's not good is how they totally screwed up the spidey movies. Total trashed them but they already did 3 of them so they can't just forget about them. The most poorly cast comic movie out there.
knicksbabyyeah @ 6/12/2008 10:59 AM
well it's just insane they make a movie to draw in the comic fans, and then totally reinvent the storylines to suit the movie (spidey, x-men) which disappoints the comic fans.

My thing is these comic book stories are perfect. The original writers....Stan Lee!.....pure genius. Why make a movie and not stay hardcore true to the story?

Toby Mcguire was a absolute terrible choice. I ranted about this in the ironman thread.

Anyway, better late than never. Iron Man was so damn good.........here is some speculation.......why would Iron Man be needed in a Hulk movie? TECH! I think we will see a few Hulkbusters in this film. How else can you stop the hulk? Sheild will be in the film cuz regular military can't do anything to the Hulk. Starks will suit up some sheild agents in some Hulkbuster gear and it will be awesome........again that's me speculating. That would be awesome, no? If you watch the Hulk video game commercial they show some robotic charecters trying to contain Hulk. Those gotta be hulkbusters. It would be a shame if they weren't in the film.

Oh yeah I plan on seeing this movie early!

If he is the next Spidey I will be so angry. Still this guy would probably be way better than Toby.

just saw hulk. i went to my around the way theater in jackson heights. right off roosevelt avenue on 82nd street. how is the around the way experience? let me just say the movie had spanish subtitles.

with that said, the script was very basic and cookie cutter.

but the movie held together well and the action scenes were done really good. alot of stuff goes down in this one in terms of setting up for many future movies/tie-ins/villians/etc.

didn't really like ed norton or liv tyler or even william hurt but the movie still worked.

saw the movie and i have to describe it as good, bad and ugly. first the good. norton's performance was great. though he was the polar opposite of rdj performance for iron man, it definately matches banner's personality. he reminded me of bixby's character in the 80's. i like the fact that the hulk was more heroic in this one. there was one sequence at the end that put a smile on my face when he did a certain well known hulk move to save people and did it with wtyle. i also love the nods towards the show and the fact it showcases the marvel continuim. the coolest part was when tony starks appeared. that was not a suprise since we saw him on the commercials. the big suprise is what he says at the end that will get comic fans amped.
now the bad. tim roth's villian was bottom of the barrel. he just sneers and spew out sad stories about how good he used to be. hurt's character is slightly better than the previous ross character but not much. it needed more substance and i know they edited this down by supposedly 70 minutes but still there were things that i sensed were missing.
now the ugly. CGI! i thought i was watching my son's cartoons. it was bad, especially in the daytime. is it wrong to say that the CGI in the first hulk was better than this one? if they have another one, which i am not sure they will, they should just get a big muscular guy and have him be the hulk. much more believable than what i saw on the screen.
well, as you can tell,i can't help but be disappointed. i am a huge hulk fan and i used to watch the tv show religiously every friday night as well as the saturday morning cartoon. though there was potential ( love the opening scene that shows the origin), this movie could have been so much better. its the hulk, man. this was number 2 on marvel's list of superheroes behind spider-man. now it seems like there is a laundry list of heroes that come before him more ways than one.
TMS @ 6/14/2008 5:58 PM
i'm guessing the next big marvel title's gonna be the Avengers? can't wait for that.
