WNBA star Becky Hammond has decided to represent Team Russia in the next Summer Olympics, even though she doesn't have any Russian heritage & she grew up, lives & works in the US.

Do you guys think a person should have the right to choose any country they wanna play for (she plays for a Russian team in the offseason & has been granted Russian citizenship), or do you think this is selling out?

Martina Navratilova represented the US in Tennis I believe, but at least she lived & worked in the US for a long time.

No. If she wants to play for Russia, let her play. I have nothing against her for it.

TMS what you left out was that she wasn't invited to play for the US team. I was reading an article on it a few days ago.

i didn't know that nyk... just saw a CNN clip about the story & they didn't mention she wasn't invited to play for the US team... odd then that the US coach was the one to label her a traitor.

they said she was invited only after they found out she was going to play for russia.
