If she started her campaign out the way she ended it--this whole thing would be put to bed. Hillary would've beaten both Obama and Mccain by double digits. the vice president is about who the president wants to run with, not who is most qualified for the position. that's the whole point. obama won the primary, he gets to choose his VP and if he doesn't think hillary gives him the best chance to win (which she doesn't) then he won't pick her (which he didn't).
its a moot point at this point, like ruing the day that isiah was hired or dolan was born.

Bigsmooth--the strategic decision to put Hillary on the ticket would ve been a game-ending play. Go watch Hillary's speech last night and tell me if she didnt start her campaign for the Democratic nomination like that--it would ve been done. She used a strategy of staying quiet and hoping for an early knock out blow and it derailed her nomination. Once she started acting like the real Hillary--she had a tremendous momentum run that is getting larger. My bet is people would rather have Hillary at the top than Obama but that does not matter what matters is getting Obama in. The best way to do that would ve been selecting Hillary as the VP--her presence and energy combined with her momentum would ve brought Obama the win easily. Now it will be a dogfight. The way this country is---Im really scared that to many people will not accept the ticket and then you add in a lot of peod people on the democratic side. Well hopefully God will be with Obama and hopefully McCain will be asked how many homes he owns on a weekly basis:)

That is what I mean to say. I don't see how you can look at the platform Hillary ran on and now conclude McCain is the best choice to see those positions through. Is there an element to the Hillary whiners that won't vote for a black man no matter what?

anyone watching hillary speak last night got a glimpse of one great speaker. i was impressed to a degree, but left wanting more clarification for her support to obama for his presidential run. my guesstimation is hillary does not play second fiddle to obama as vp which i was pleased to see joe biden get the selection.
what i did not hear hillary mention that she unequivocally supports obama as president. she needed to convey this message to all clinton supporters, the dnc, and all watching the broadcast. maybe that's why the delegate suzanne malveaux interviewed after hillary's speech was unsure to vote for obama.

Not necessarily... well to a point. If I can agree with conservatives on one point, its that their party and ideology have not completely cornered the market on backwards, bigoted thinking. Face it, there are racist democrat constituents.

I agree with you - she did totally, unequivocally support Obama! And told her delegates to vote for Obama.
On another tone, there is something about her that leaves me cold. IMO, it is more like they are her people and for this election, they should support Obama. But they are still her people, and she is holding onto them.
