btw, why are people still comparin palin's resume to obama's? palin is not the #1 name on the ticket, it's mccain.

and regardless of where you stand on palin, "senator, you're no jack kennedy" tells me that the vp doesn't factor in *that* heavily when it comes time to vote for president.

it's mccain or obama...you don't vote for biden/palin seperately...

Thats the Republicans big sticking point experience: Obama is qualified to lead the country because he lacks the experience but when picking a running mate he attempted to sure up the experience question. At least with either Obama or Biden imo you have two cohesive and complimentary candidates. McCain questions Obama's experience then turns around and brings in a person whose been Gov of a population thats consists of two moose and 4 people.

Thats why its important remember McCain made it an issue not Obama or Biden.

Dems are foolish to get into a debate about whether Obama or Palin has more experience (as I here on TV a lot). Most Americans are just going to conclude that they have about the same and both are below average for the positions their running for. Every time experience comes up, Dems need to say something like "Senator Obama has more experience being RIGHT than McCain and Palin combined. Whether it's the issue of staying in Iraq for another 100 years or giving tax breaks to those who don't need them, Senator McCain has a lot of experience being wrong and Senator Obama being right. Americans agree with Senator Obama that we don't need another 100 years in Iraq and that the Bush/McCain tax policy has crippled the economy."

I agree the Democrats should frame the argument of showing that Obama exhibits better judgement. But experience was McCain's number one reason why voters should vote for him; so this VP candidate directly correlates with McCain's lack of judgement.

By showing that even though he questions Obama's experience he had no problem selecting someone that he met once before and with just as little if not less experience then his opponent. Focus on McCain's questionable decision making skills. He completely contradicted himself with this Palin pick and the Dems should hammer this home with voters.

i just want to clarify some things b/c it seems like if you make one comment about one member of a particular party, people who support the other party will chime in.

1. i have not said who i will vote for.
2. i have not commented on any of the issues.
3. i have not given my opinion of the content of anybody's speeches.

my positive remarks on palin have only to do with her presentation and ability to do what the republican party asked her to do last night. she delivered exactly how they wanted her to. that's all. palin shouldn't be treated different than anybody else. i think anything said about any of the issues during the the DNC and the RNC mean nothing b/c like i said before, it's a huge pep rally to get people to cheer. the next two months of debates will tell americans who they should vote for.

unless you clarify more precisely than the above we will all continue to think you have sexy-hotpants for palin. VPILF ALERT.

It's just amazing, you need to give people a chance. Everyone has been slamming our draft pick, and been all over Walsh because we have been let down in the past and it's hard to think positively when you are continually let down.

If you are going to give Obama credit you need to give Palin credit, they both stepped up in the moment and gave great speeches. No one writes their own speeches. Everyone is attacking the women's record, but the media makes very little of Obama's, it's more scary that she mentions that the war is gods work or obama not recognizing other nations as threats? You question her judgement, i think it's troubling some of the associations obama has, and if you listen to a racist preacher for 20 years and he is one of your mentors, marries you, I would like to see how fair the coverage would be had mccain done the same thing.

Media coverage is slanted from the left from the networks to the newspapers. It's just alarming to see how negative everyone gets towards this women and has so much respect for Hilary, when her husband was out banging everything with a pulse throughout their marriage and publicly embarrassed her in front of the entire country.

If you don't support Bush, no one can blame you, if you want change that's fair, but make sure change is more than a word, more than smoke and mirrors and fancy rhetoric.

They pushed around a nation earlier in the decade, forcing us off to war, stripping away our civil liberties, trashing our economy and they and dared anyone to utter a contrary word, promising retribution if anyone bit.

They have their lily-white convention and their transparent talking points and its just completely nauseating.

I dont know if this is a reference to Barack's grandmother or not, but this is an ideology that has continually demonized young mothers, specifically those in the inner city, and a supposed morally-deficient youth that can only be cured through abstinence only education.

Its textbook conservatism. Get tough on issues as long as they dont affect you or your community and lambaste liberals for being "soft". But the minute their daughter gets pregnant, or their son gets caught with drugs, or their father gets caught committing a crime, then all of a sudden they want peace, love and understanding.

I'm nervous tho. All I keep hearing about is how she is a mother of five kids and how cute her kids are (weren't Obama's kids cute?). Next to nothing about policies and issues.

Its the "we can have a beer with this president" thing all over again. Amazing considering how high the stakes are this time around. This country never ceases to amaze me.

Give her credit for what exactly? She showed why she is running for the GOP. The only thing she talked about is why John McCain is a war hero WTF does that have to do with being a president? She sounded negative, arrogant, condescending and empty. If you cant talk you dont get to be a politician so if that's all you are so agog about go knock yourself out. But dont ask people to give her credit, begging for respect usually just shows why you dont get any. She is addicted to power and has started to abuse it to attain vindication for her family and her home town, this is exactly the type of person the GOP would choose. The only thing that does concern me is the Bridge to Nowhere thing....she souldn't have claimed credit for that wen she was a proponent of it initially.

Any good politician will get as many earmarks for their town. It's unfortunate the system works like that, but their primary responsibility is to their constituents.

All in all, I think it wasnt the best choice...Liberman/McCain would have actually been a strong ticket.

Troopergate is not a media generated story since it was going on before she was even picked. She hired attorneys 3 weeks ago. McCain did not vet her properly. He makes rash decisions by his own accord. The only problem with accepting earmarks is that she is supposed to be a reformer and should be against all earmarks. In addition, there is the "Road to Nowhere" not to be confused with the "Bridge to Nowhere" she apparently is still onboard with this earmark. The conservative right would not have backed McCain if he would have taken Liberman who he really wanted. He knew he couldn't win without them this time around. I think 2000 still haunts him. He moved so far right he backed himself in a corner. Another problem with taking Liberman is that he is a man without a place to call home. McCain knew that Liberman has burned all his bridges so it was doubtful that he would benefit from taking him. He could have taken Huckabee, a man with executive experience that is well known and liked by the conservative establishment but McCain doesn't like him. He basically took a person that he could control on the ticket that the based would like.

Fighting back the knee-jerk response of calling them outright liars, I decided to visit the Library of Congress website at http://thomas.loc.gov/ and search for all Bills and Amendments sponsored, co-sponsored or supported by Senator Obama.

In addition to Bills sponsored, I also discoverd that there are several pieces of legislation, voted into law, that was sponsored by Senator Obama. Note too, I have grouped the Bills found on the Library of Congress website by category for easier perusal. There are over 100 Bills and Amendments sponsored by Senator Obama this past year alone; since his arrival in the US Senate, 4 Bills he sponsored or co-sponsored have been signed into law. No "empty suit" here. Read on.
