phillies about to win a championship for that cesspool city that thought cheering opposing player's injuries, throwing snowballs at santa, constant fights in other fan's stadiums, throwing a mascot off of a roof, cursing out little kids that have on an opposing team's jersey on ( adult mind you), world renown as the worst american fans ever are a norm. if there is one city that doesn't deserve a championship, its philly. and here they are about to win it. pathetic.

better than that cesspool of a city in Boston winning another one... & i think that Phillies team deserves it, they play like a team & have a ton of heart.

btw, everyone's Golden child Evan Longoria is something like 0 for the series with 9 K's... i guess he's a bum now? just checking.
Allanfan20 @ 10/27/2008 5:38 PM
Who said he was a bum?
TMS @ 10/27/2008 5:52 PM
i'm just asking... the guy was lights out in the ALDS & ALCS but he's struggling mightily in the WS... i know lots of baseball fans (Yankee fans in particular) judge a player strictly based on postseason performance... so under our standards would u consider the guy a bum w/the pitiful series he's having?

(sorry jazz, not trying to hijack ur thread)

back to the Phils... their fans are probably the worst in sports barnone, i will not argue w/u there (trust me, i hate the Eagles more than anyone in football & a large part of that has to do w/their a-hole fans), but that team played their hearts out this year & i think they deserve to have a ring on their fingers for it.

I know where you're going with this --- get off A-Rod's dikk my brotha, Madonna already got that on lock anyway.

But...you can get back to me when Longoria is making 250 mil (nauseating 2000 free agent campaign, BTW), and is positioned by his agent and the media as one of the best ever. That jack comes with a price tag.

it's not just ARod... fans were booing Reggie Jackson like there's no tomorrow until he finally came through w/those HR's in the WS... all this w/a guy who'd come to this franchise w/3 WS rings on his finger... it's the NY fans' mentality that i'm getting at... this is not an ARod issue, it's a NY fan's unrealistic expectations issue.

I think throwing a mascot off the roof should become a tradition.

jazz74 @ 10/28/2008 3:22 PM
don't worry about it, tms. we all hijack threads. i have done it plenty of times. well at least i get two more days without a philly parade.
TMS @ 10/28/2008 4:51 PM

LOL. hope so but i doubt it. it would be ironic and philly's luck if this weatherbreak was the spark the rays needed and storm back to beat philly the next three games. that would be a storybook ending. LOL.
TMS @ 10/28/2008 9:08 PM
i'm hoping for it to go to game 7 to add to the drama... lol.
jazz74 @ 10/29/2008 10:38 PM
well, the world is a sham. phillies won. m'fer!
TMS @ 10/29/2008 10:56 PM
now u know how Yankees fans felt last year.
Pharzeone @ 10/29/2008 11:15 PM

LOL. yeah, i guess we deserve it. that is what we get for celebrating and carrying on for nothing while the philles concentrated on winning a championship. i wonder if it would spark this team but i doubt it. also, yankee fans, quit whining. how many championships have you won in the past decade? and you are upset about boston winning only two. i am not a yankee hater but the whining needs to stop. meanwhile my team has the biggest payroll in the nl and nothing to show for it. so we have a right to whine.
TMS @ 10/30/2008 4:01 PM
lol... hey bro, i've only been alive to witness 6 of them... it hasn't been that many... OK, it has... i'm greedy, what can i say?
