He has a lot of work but I am confident in him. He gets it. I can't really explain it. Organization and communication skills have once again return to the American landscape. Old politics grudge matches and ideals have been defeated. Still too close to call in NC is just amazing.

Forget the pictures in the video, listen to the song:
Hey!

you guys know I'm older than dirt (but not as old as Marv, thank god!) so I've seen a good share of elections, and more often than not you end up with some sort of consolation prize - the lesser of two evils. But his dude just seems like the absolute right man at the right time, bar none.
Unfortunately the state of affairs are so F'd right now it will hard to measure any sort of success, but Obama is the only candidate out there who can truly inspire in times like these.
And they say he wants to get his transition team rolling at noon tomorrow. Excellent, not a moment to waste.

It's going to be a long 4 years IMO................ things are never good when one party has all the power.

Cool and creative. Now if only they had those frogs croaking Barack, Barack.
GKFv2@ 11/5/2008 1:09 AM
Damn, once I'm off my Obama high, I will be shot right back down to reality when I turn on the TV tomorrow and see Dickbury wearing a suit on the bench and the Knicks bricking shots while Larry Brown laughs at them.

man, missed the play-by-play over here tonight, but what a joy to re-read what you'all have to post. Better than any Game Thread by far.
Good day indeed. Looking forward to what Obama can do for our country.
Martin he's already done it!!!!
Did you see the crowds? I'm sorry....the mccain crowd was so tasteless and embarrassing......almost racist.....I'm quiet sure alot of them are.
In obama's speech.....not one boooo was heard in that crowd when mccain's name was said.
Obama's crowd? ah man....Martin luther king is up in heaven doing the fucking worm dude!!!!!!
It's beautiful....this country has a long way to go, but my world or at least my understanding of it has gained some intense hope. I just dropped another tear man! its so crazy.....you can't down play this shit. this is pure history just by what he did......
on top of this the dude is such an incredible candidate......its been too long man. the world was watching and screaming and crying in joy for this american man. leader of the free muthafuking world dude! this is so freakin powerful!
Yo the secret service needs to give bush some garbage bags and get him the fuck outta the white house right now!!!!!
Yeah man, how sweet it is!!
crzymdups@ 11/5/2008 1:17 AM

all the high hopes & optimism is a great thing... but we all have to face reality that this mess that Bush left behind is not gonna get fixed overnight... we're gonna have to be willing to go through some tough times around here til we fix the core foundation... very similar to the Knicks' situation in fact.
eViL@ 11/5/2008 2:16 AM
Wow. This was an awesome thread...
Man, I gotta say I've never witnessed such an inspirational election. Obama's speech was nasty. His win really speaks volumes about how far we've made it as a country. And if we can make it this far, imagine how much further we can take it.
4949@ 11/5/2008 2:21 AM
Okay, the Dems have full control now. A few supremes replaced with people ones and we should be back in business. But your absolutely right TMS. There's a lot' of work to do.
Congrats to Obama. I now see that his gift lays in the ability to 'change minds'. Let's see if he can do that with the politicians and get some real change for all of us. I'm looking forward to some good times!!!
TMS@ 11/5/2008 2:24 AM
Obama needs to put Dubya & Dick Cheney on the deactivated list immediately.
