Well one fish fried. Need to get rid of Heilman Castillo resign Perez find a fifth starter[maybe Martinez on the cheap] and retool the pen. We have some good young position players who need time and will get time to integrate with the core. Bullpen is why the Mets collapsed and it should be a strength next year. Good top line pitchers and a tier one closer with improved middle relief--we'll be 10 games better.
Did you know:
Francisco Rodriguez did not have 1 save last year out of his 62 where he came into a game in the middle of an inning.
I hope for the sake of you Mets fans that the Mets can go out and find a great setup man like KRod was afforded in LA with Arrendando, Shields and Speier.
I was just telling my friend that the key to fixing the bullpen is finding arms for the 6th and 7th innings. I want two more relief pitchers, Orlando Hudosn, and AJ Burnett signed before I get excited about these guys again. Heilman needs to get the jerome james treatment
K-Rod is a heart attack waiting to happen and has lost a lot off his fastball. But he's better than anything they had and it's a very good contract for the Mets.
does anyone care?
Did you know its a proven fact:
There are no actual Met fans. They are all closet Red Sox fans.

One nice thing is K Rod is going to face batters who have not seen him--that is always advantage pitcher. the only guy who was good in our bullpen last year was Wagner until his arm started blowing up. To have a guy like K rod is a great foundation piece but I fully agree we need a full retool. Heilman either has to be traded or released. He can never wear a Mets jersey again
I knew it wasn't going to happen, but I actually wanted the Yankees to sign K-Rod. Rivera only has so many years left.
The Mets got a bargain on this guy. This will be the best signing in years. We didn't overpay and we didn't give him too many years. It's rare that contracts that make sense happen. Kudos to Omar.
He's got his game face on in Las Vegas this week
The contract is definately a bargain and his showmanship should annoy the phillies.
