Call in Gay Day Wednesday posted 5:57 pm Tue December 09, 2008
Charleston, SC - Gay rights activists are urging people to call in "gay" and skip work across the U.S. tomorrow.
What’s become known as "day without a gay" was started after the passage of a law banning same-sex marriage in California.
Tomorrow the community is expected to take a historic stance against hatred and call in gay.
"And by people calling in tomorrow and saying I'm not coming in because I'm gay will make people much more aware that we are important members of this community," Warren Gress said, with the Alliance for Full Acceptance.
Instead of working, participants are encouraged to donate their time to service.
The protest coincides with International Human Rights Day.

Thats pretty gay, bro.
But on a serious note, I wouldn't dare call in sick in this economy. The gays will have to wait.

I'm not sure I see how this would show anything to anyone? Wasting a sick day on a day when nobody is going to notice the cause that you're after if you say you're sick. Of course, if you call in and say you're calling in gay, you may be putting your career in jeopardy (not to mention sounding foolish). I'm all for doing the right thing, but this doesn't seem to be a very effective way of getting one's point across.
Besides, as mentioned earlier, calling in gay is... well, pretty gay.

What if you're not gay, but really sick tomorrow? What do you do?
