NBA · OT: Cats dismantling Phoenix (page 1)

I flip the game on during halftime of our game. The Cats were up 89-55 in the 4th quarter. It's 90-61 now with 6:40 left.

Terry Porter is going to get (e)scapegoated by Kerr, I'll bet.

On a side note, the Cats are wearing some weird lookin' alternates. The numbers are straightened up instead of slanted and there's checkerboard pattern on the side. Looks a bit tacky, but eh.

You know I'm entirely soured on Amare. This guy is lucky to be worth HALF of a max contract. Now, if that worked in our favor in 2010, so be it, but I really don't want to spend any more than that on him. He's really never impressed me to be honest and now he's pretty average way too often. Always thought he was a product of the league wanting the Suns to succeed - you know - phantom fouls and free walks and allowed pushes and grabs and all - and now you can just see he's not that great of a player.

Suns have been done for a while though. Kerr ruined that team.

larry brown is doing a GREAT job with them. they play hard. they play defense. after tonight, they will be 11-6 in the last 17. if they get a scorer (hello allen iverson), they could do quite decently next year.
djsunyc @ 1/23/2009 9:14 PM
and the suns need to blow it up...

I'm very happy for Larry.

Amare's better than anyone we have on our team including D Lee... we'd be lucky to get him.

Agreed. and LOL at the NBA or Ref's having anything to do with Amares talent.

Amare is OK.
Coach is 50% of what player can accomplish.
Now he will get it... but it is a bit late.

I agree especially when he's looking for a Max deal. No way you offer that kind of money to him. The dude got outplayed by Scalabrine the other night. He thinks he's Don Diva but he's just a Diva Bish!

So is it okay for the Larry Lovers to emerge from their hiding places?

That checkered stuff is something new. It's unique.

I have watched alot of Phoenix games on tv and I have Amare on my fantasy team--something is missing in his game this year. Too many 4 reb games. Lack of caring or something.

Shaq is clogging up the lane for him... even still he's averaging 20+ ppg.

I'd rather have Bosh.

And LOL at not remembering what a free ride Amare got from the Refs during those few good Suns years where the league was in love with their rise in the West. It got so pathetic they should have abolished the jump ball and just started the game with Amare taking 2 FTAs.

Was he a good player? Yes. Was that a good team that made all the players play well? Yes. Did he get a heck of a lot of help from the refs which resulted in less personal fouls which allowed more aggressive defense, got less traveling and shoving calls, which allowed more aggressive offense, which resulted in a number of extra points an average player would never be afforded? Hell yes.

Regardless I don't like the guy, I always felt he was over rated, he's going to be even 2 years older, he's playing like a chump at times, and there's always that huge injury concern. He's not only not worth max money he's not even worth consideration if other players are available at the same time.

Bobcats should be ashamed at their uniforms.
