Anyone catch this game? I caught the 2nd half last night late on ESPN U - a replay from 1/24. What a game this kid had. Ready for this statline - 42 pts. on 11-19 FG, 17-21 from the line, 3-5 from 3. Oh yeah, AND he had 14 rebounds. Amazing. Iowa State lost as it was just too much Aldrich and Sherron Collins down the stretch, but man, talk about a monster game. And he didn't do this against the Bradley Braves either, he had the game of his life against stiff competition - the Jayhawks are one of the best teams in the college game today with good players up front (Cole Aldrich, the Morris brothers...) Man. What a game...
For the season (his soph. yr.) Brackins is putting up 19.3 ppg, 9.1 rpg, shooting 49% FG. 6'10" 230 lbs. PF has a very smooth inside/outside game reminicent of Kevin Durant. Looks like a real interesting prospect who's not being talked about at all. Well, expect him to start getting some buzz now after a game like that against a very good Kansas team.
Just put up 19 & 10 today against Blake Griffin in a 78-68 loss at home to the Oklahoma Sooners. Griffin had a big 2nd half and Willie Warren had a monster game but this game was a lot closer than the final score would indicate (game was tied 33 all at the half with Brackins outscoring Griffin 13 to 7). Still, I saw what I wanted to see - which was Brackins holding his own against Griffin. Kid has nice offensive ability and he can rebound - he's looking like 1st round talent to me.
