I see where Christian is coming from. It sounds like the guy was walking around while they were filming a scene. That's distracting.

But what can you expect when the business and the people worship them and elevate them so high they believe nothing can work without them? This actor wouldn't have a job after a scene like this, but since he is a hot shot actor, nothing will happen. Stupid a$$hole.

Guess who's being fired and who will make it for movie #2 and #3? What an a$$, but everybody has to put up to this pathetic scene because, well, he is the star. There you go, hollywood, for creating ridiculous attention whores like this one. Can't believe it...

I've seen people flip out over less. And you don't have to be a star to flip out for no reason. You ever see driver's flip out with road rage. Sometimes people's tempers just blow.

So? $hit like that always happens while filming. Yeah, its completely frustrating for everyone in the production team and the actors, but you don't go out of the way and make such a ridiculous scene about it. He does it only because he is allowed to, as he is the star. Thats what is so sad about Hollywood.

I can understand getting mad, but you move away for a minute, scream whatever you want to, come back and do the scene again. Freaking ridiculous! Filmmaking is a team work, no matter if you are paid or not, and even if you don't know the guy or deal with him directly, you respect his job. If he messed up, fine, discuss it, someone will make sure it doesn't happen again and you move on to the next scene. You don't go out like this. He calls him amateur or something like that. Wow, like he never was, like he has always been such a great actor, which he isn't even on his best days.

What a ridiculous a-hole.

Im sorry but it happens WAY TOO MANY TIMES in the movie business. What, so because people flip out for less he is excused? I don't care where or why it happens, you never try to reach that level. This happens so many times with star actors that thats where my comment comes from. Don't care if it happens everywhere else, we are talking about this case in particular.

I'd like to see the video and really here what the other guy was saying. Its obvious Bale was going off, but we don't know how the guys frustration level was before and how hard they were at it to get the shot. Somtimes its hours of delays and miss steps before they get the scene. The technical aspects are tremendous and the pressure the actors are under is intense. Hours of rehersal, preparation, make up, and lighting can go into a shot and then some idiot blows it, and defends his stupidity?

Bale was going off but its not like he was walking off. He wanted to get right back to work and get it done.

I agree they may have been out there shooting for hours and then another shot is ruined because some kind is walking around in the background.

Also I think most people have explosions from time to time. This DP isn't the first person to get reamed at their jobs you don't think this type of stuff doesn't happen on the sideline or locker room or back at police precinct?

you know....if the guy was walking around on the set distracting the actors during the scene then the dude should be fired....i mean yeah the guy overreacted but maybe he didn't....maybe the guy did it before. In fact Christian Bale said he did do it before. That's probably why someone thought to record the rant this time.

if i was writing something or paiting something that had to be made on the spot, i would totally flip out also if a dude is totally disrespecting my work. there's rules to that shit.....quiet on the set??? yeah man i'd be pissed too

This was the director of photography who is hired by the producers, who is the owner of the film. Its not like he was just a guy setting up the lights.

Remember Bobby Knight? Bale's behavior isn't really that shocking when you think about how many coaches routinely ream out their players after poor performances. My coach in high school was ridiculously hot temper our parents, friends, teachers, would be sitting in the stands and our coach would pull us from the game and just go ballistic. But at the same time he was super cool off the court and always gave us support whenever we needed it.

Also have you been in the kitchen of a high end restaraunt; Executive Chefs are notorious for having bully type personalities.

I just dont think its right. Imagine if it was you getting humiliated in front of your peers by some rich spoiled asshole. Ill never watch another Christian Bale movie. Unless I hear its really good.
