T4?

Loved the first and didn't think the second came close, was annoyed by the kid. T3 was a joke.

Looking forward to this one.

Lot of good flicks coming. IMO Wolverine is the best comic book character ever and I am very looking forward to his movie. T4 should be great although I am a bit turned off by Bale who is a total dbag but he's good for the role. Watchmen should also kick butt.

I thought T2 was one of the best followups ever.
EnySpree @ 3/5/2009 11:21 AM
I'm a huge terminator fan so any movie with the concept is completely awesome to me....so I kinda dug T3. Whats dope about it is that in the Sarah Conner Cronicles (dope show!!!) they show that skynet has been sending peeps to the past to kill other peeps besides John Conner and Sarah and John actually have a little grunt team taking down elements of skynet before they get started. So T3 may have never happened before that show is finished.

Anyway...T4 trailors look SICK!!!! ah man I can't wait to see the film. It looks hard as hell!!!

Remember T-1 when they showed the scenes from the future--it looked like the sequel right there--it looked awesome in 1984 and it took 25 years for them to make it. I agree on T-3 although Im a big fan and could tolerate it--and the chick was hot:) but I thought the John Conner in that movie was a pssy and the kid from T-2 was good.

Comic books are stupid. I'm looking forward to The Notebook 2.

you ever went to universal studios and saw the Terminator 3D show? That was dope. It was a continuation of T2....i'm gonna see if its on youtube.

bam!!!!!

this was pretty awesome in 3d...at the end there is an explosion and they had water sprinkle on the crowd...supposed to represent the liquid terminator raining down on everyone.

edit: I JUST FINISHED WATCHING AND ITS NOT THE FUL VERSION....ITS ONLY HALF OF IT....THEY ADDED ON THE CLIP FROM T3....SUCKS!!!

at least you didn't say 'watchmen.'

i can't believe i even read that a sequel was being considered...

what?

the way the film is being marketed and apparently directed in highly glossy, "pseudo" dark tones, in my view, seems to disgrace the content of the novel.

i'm sure i'll get lambasted for this comment, as i know some here are very hyped about it, but to me...i'm scared...very scared...

snyder, the guy who directed '300,' is gonna take a profound story of post-modern ideas that shows the flaws of hero worship and make it into what it looks like which is a piece of action-hero, male-love porn?

that's just dishonest to it's content.

i genuinely hope i'm wrong, but what i have seen makes me very concerned. it's a very deep story being sold as "entertainment." does anyone else not see the conflict in this?

it probably wants to be another 'dark knight' but somehow i just don't trust snyder to do this. 'the dark knight' never really felt like a comic film, it felt like an adult crime film, in the tradition of 'the french connection' and scorsese. i have never seen such directing ability from
snyder.

as for t4, i hope it's good, but i dunno...we'll have to see.

i'm hoping snyder didn't butcher it too badly. it wasn't meant to be a movie - more like a 12 hour hbo series. i think the commercials and teasers shown are to get fans to come watch it. some people that already saw it says it's true to the comic and he did a great job. i heard the ending is somewhat different. same premise but different execution. don't know what that means but i think (to keep it spoiler free):

there is no giant o------ in the end but something else.

so, i just watched the t4 trailer...

is this just a tad bit of a plot hole being revealed...

umm...can someone explain to me where in the previous films do the terminators not realize they are not human?

i'm sure the argument will be that they created them afterward, but the next gen terminators were the t-1000 (t2), and whatever the girl was in t3.

i guess

well this one is a prequel to the first one.....John Conner isn't even in charge yet. Nobody is going back in time yet either. That Marcus charecter seems interesting don't you think? I wanna see where they gonna go with that. Cuz I always wondered why the Terminators weren't more human like....the Terminators are all cold. This one actually thinks it's human!!! So maybe they will answer my questions...

i hear you man. i think you're absolutely right that they are trying to "sell" the movie to a more mass audience via marketing tools and tricks.

terry gilliam first wanted to make it into a film, and then thought it had to be made into at least a 5 hour mini-series, but could never get the project off the ground. how much better would it be if it were a mini-series?

at least i wish darren aronofsky, or paul greengrass, both of whom were slated to direct. they would be a much better choices than snyder, who imho seems to be a hack at this point in his career, despite all the hoopla about the visuals of '300.'

when i saw the trailer for one of my favorite films last year, 'vicky christina barcelona' i was very uninterested, because they sold it as a love triangle romantic comedy, but it never played out that way, and was far more interesting.

i also heard about the ending change. i didn't yet know it wasn't the ----- you are referring to that changed. i thought i heard there was a more more dramatic ending change, but what do i know?

all this said, i may end up seeing it if i hear good things about it from reviewers i trust. otherwise i will probably force myself to wait for it on dvd or other options. i just don't want to support a film because i think i "have" to see it and i feel it does not fairly represent the intent of a novel such as this.

eny, bro, i think this then makes the plot hole even bigger. it would seem that it would take FAR more technological advances to imitate the human brain and behavior than to just take the tissue and put it on top of a cyborg.

if arnie's terminators come later, then why does he have less developed intelligence?

i guess we could rationalize it via a sort of 'i am legend' perspective, that the machines figured it was better to just develop killing technologies and have the terminators become just that, rather than develop their a.i. like humans because that might lead to emotions that would make them not want to kill, or think the machines were evil, or something like that, which happens to some humans, even those trained to "do harm" if they encounter some experiences that lead them to question it.

however, then, we would probably have seen at least some terminators fighting for the humans too, if they realize the machines are baddies with their more developed intelligence, no? and in t2 they wouldn't have had to send back arnie's "old" terminator who was also just a killing machine, but programmed to protect john conner. they could have sent an older terminator that is smarter. although maybe the idea was that arnie was a better fighter.

i'm speculating big time, obviously.

Did any of you guys see "The Visitor" ? Richard Jenkins got nominated for an Oscar (best actor) and I'm in a few scenes playing saxophone.
PresIke @ 3/5/2009 12:28 PM
93Buick,

wow, cool!

good film, btw.

loved the afro-beat music in it.

shoot...where were you doing that? was one the washington sq park scene?
EnySpree @ 3/5/2009 12:37 PM
presike....you check the sarsh connors cronicles? They have hinted on the robots being a little more "advanced" than others but I guess they are waiting for the movie to drop to full expand on it.

you can't be pissed though kid....it should be a very interesting movie like they all are. the people behind the movies are now more concerned with the fans and keeping the continuity...it's gonna be epic dude...its planned to be a trilogy if the movies do well in the box office.
Paladin55 @ 3/5/2009 1:21 PM
So I take it that nobody is waiting with anticipation for The Reader to come out on DVD?

actually, i'd like to see it. however, it's funny that kate winslet was in an 'extras' epsiode where she played a nun, and one big point was making fun of actors using jewish holocaust/nazi films to win academy awards.

actually, i haven't watched that, nor any "drama" or non-news related program on television other than some on hbo and a few showtime shows. but i hope t4 is good.
jrodmc @ 3/5/2009 2:55 PM
Trailers look cool, but wtf do i know?; i haven't watched TV in 8 years.

Don't feel bad Briggs, i'm old and I don't gaf. 25 years ago, i had already dropped out of college.

I don't understand people who actually would want to sit and watch 30 hours of a miniseries. Kids these days.

I wonder if they're going to come out with a Terminator quartet DVD pack? Qualigy? Trilogy+1?
