Great find as usual GKF.

That's when hip hop was really good. Hip hop and rock were in the golden age.

actually, the fact of the matter is that public enemy is still and has never stopped making music. shoot i'm on some of those recent records.

some of these acts never stopped (including mc lyte, as i have one of her latest singles, after meeting up with her last year), they just not covered anymore as such.

these are nice sentimental pics, but i have problems with the way the story is being written. imho this is a major reason why some of these legendary acts have been "forgotten" or never really listened to by some.

Although I'm not surprised, I'm saddened that there's no profiles in that article for Pete Rock, CL Smooth or De La Soul. At least they got Tribe in there.

Hip-hop has always been about the people and for the people. So its our resposibility to preserve it not wait for someone else to write about it, you know?

Anybody ever check D-Nice's website? Or youtube? He has some great interviews on there...even with guys you haven't seen in years. Its stuff like that....new media....people can now take resposibility themselves and promote or give thanks to whatever they choose....that's untill "they" totally buy it out and restricted the use.

I check out D-nice all the time. I put a few of his interviews in my hip hop blog section. It would be nice if he could bring his interviews on TV.

Looks like TV is dying slowly... cable is losing subscribers, ad revenue is down. Someone needs to rethink TV as a business model, because I prefer being able to search for an interview and see it when I want to as opposed to waiting for a speciific time or paying for TiVo
