treo 755 smartphone....the s*it is awesome and plays my slingbox on it.

TMS @ 5/26/2009 4:30 PM
stupid AT&T blocked Slingplayers on all their 3G networks... fuggers!

i ended up getting the Samsung Eternity... it's like a wannabe iPhone pretty much but most of the worthwhile apps cost a monthly fee to use... i got it cuz it had the Mobile TV player but the service costs $15 a month after the free trial & i rarely get reception on it so i ended up cancelling the service... didn't wanna have to shell out the $300 or whatever it is for a new iPhone plus the more expensive data plan monthly fee... i only really use the call & text features anyway & i got a nice rebate so i'll just deal w/this phone til it's time to upgrade again.

Only get HTC's. Best phones on the market.

I am actually up for getting a new phone. I'm getting it sometime between now and Friday. I currently have the Krazr which is a mess.

So now I was choosing between the "Dare" and "Omnia" and the Blackberry "Storm." The Dare looks real expensive but it seems real good and I've heard good things about calling and the text messaging feels good, and I am a big text messager.

I like the screen of the Storm but it seems kind of annoying too and I've heard some bad stories about it. Plus it's an extra $30 a month for internet, which is a ripoff. Or at least that's what the guy at one store told me.

Any suggestions from anyone?

HTC phones are almost always ahead of the market. Think of cellphone firsts and they probably were there. 1st touch screen, 1st sliding keyboard, 1st EDGE tech, HSDPA, 3G, Windows Mobile and 1st HD phones.

Go to their site http://www.htc.com

Top of their range right now is probably the Touch Diamond 2

the Touch HD

the Touch Cruise

or my absolute favourite, the Touch Pro 2

Right now I have the TYTN II, but Im gonna upgrade in a month or so, and prolly get the Touch Pro II or maybe the HD. Iphone, schmiphone, these guys are at the thin sharp side of the industry.

Sorry AF, but I have zero respect for a man who actually owned and carried around the Krazr. I owned the Razr for approx 5 minutes. Returned it before I even left the store. Out of the ones you mentioned, I would go for the Omnia bc of the cool mouse feature, although I have heard reports from friends about ticky-tacky annoyances like menu setup etc. Like I said above, if you csn get them on your network, go for HTC. If your big into txting, you HAVE to buy the Touch Pro II with the sliding kb. Easiest input device I ever used.

HTC phones are almost always ahead of the market.
i am a nokia fan. IMO they make the best phones. HTC has some really nice phones but there is always something missing. I used the TYTN, its powerful but I cannot use touch screens. i just cannot do it. I type way too much on my phone during the week to have a touch screen and I couldnt adapt for like 2 months. fat fingers maybe.

And symbian is the best cell os. windows mobile blows! i have a blackberry bold for corporate emails and I love the interface but it does not compare of to the E75 I just bought. $500 of pure joy. I cannot wait to buy the Nokia N97. The Touch Pro II will be the in the same space but it falls short. 288MB internal to 32GB of the N97. 3MP camera to 5MP of the N97. more powerful processor, widgets, huge battery life! Nokia is the way to go.

BTW, I hate to say this but Christiano never shows up in big games. I really wanted to see a good game but he never showed up and Rooney was MIA! ESPN the magazine had Messi on the cover this month. I guess it really is Messi time. Barca controlled the game.

1st off, too early to talk about the game with me. Utterly crushed. Disagree about Ronny, but the entire rest of the team was mia. beaten by a better side on the night. just wanna cry. Messi is good but imo iniesta is better. Still, should have been a closer game.
never said this before but perhaps fergie got the tactics and selection wrong. not secondguessing the master, just hugely dissappionted at the performance. Anderson, nada. JSPark, a player i really appreciate, nothing. Even the Serbian Terminator had a bad game. Giggsy, absent. The Boy Rooney did nothing all game.

Silver on a complete side note, go the youtube and check out Special 1 TV and the continuation Im On Setanta Sports. If you like Prem football, you will love it. Hilarious!!

Phones are a personal thing, but tytn 2 and touchpros all have keyboards so no probs with typing on fat fingers.

The Samsung Propel

I love it.
orangeblobman @ 5/27/2009 10:25 PM
might get this tomorrow..it's cheap but it looks reliable to get me through the summer heat.

mattshaw78 @ 5/28/2009 8:44 AM
I am using the HTC Touch Pro. It is a bit heavy but it has a querty keyboard, lots of memory and built in GPS.
Allanfan20 @ 5/28/2009 9:56 AM
Ugh, why do people need GPSs? Just 6 or 7 years ago, people were coming around just fine and dandy without them. Who cares if you take a detour? It helps you learn more.

Just use map quest or Yahoo Map and you're in good shape.

And notice how you just turn into a robot if you use GPS. You don't learn anything about the new area you're in. You just drive without paying attention besides when a robot tells you when to turn. How boring.

Nothing wrong with being "Old School" every now and then.
firefly @ 5/28/2009 10:30 AM
While I hear what youre saying dude, 99% of people on the road are just trying to get from A to B, and its generally the same A and B they have been going to and from every day for the past however many years. Not much glorious exploration in that, hence the popularity of satnav.

Besides, if being a robot gets you to work on time, then being a robot is whats required.
Allanfan20 @ 5/28/2009 10:58 AM
OK, so why does a person need a GPS for a place they drive to all the time. That's another thing. It's not just exploration. It's hardly that. I just know it's easier to remember where you're going where you actually pay attention to where you go and if it's your first time going to this job then leave earlier.

Like I said, map quest and yahoo map work just as well.

And relying on the GPS can backfire on you too. For example, what if you decide to take a road trip and all of a sudden, you lose your signal. You're screwed.

GPSs suck.

i happen to have a navigation system in my vehicle...it's never turned on except for the rarest of cases. driving and getting around on the road network is really not rocket science...the problem is that many people in our 'modern' society are all too eager to ditch their own innate potentials and abilities in favor of an electronic guiding hand....weakness.
