there's a shocker.

Manny tests positive? *yawn* Sammy Sosa tests positive? *yeah yeah yeah, who cares?* ARod tests positive? *world stops functioning as we know it*
how much u wanna bet that if it gets leaked that Albert Pujols tested positive in the past, it'll barely be talked?
I doubt it about Pujols. Sosa sucks compared to those guys and that's why it's barely talked about. Look at his strike outs every year and his batting average...he wasn't anything special.
he wasn't anything special??? dude, take a gander at the #'s he put up between '95 - '03... those are alltime HOF numbers right there... don't tell me he wasn't anything special... the PED's obviously pumped up his stats & there's no way u can say Pujols is above suspicion when even ARod tested positive for the stuff.

alright, so i looked at them...they're pretty good.
still, he was never in pujol's or arod's league-- they're several levels above in talent and skill.
They made a big deal about A-Rod because he is arguably the best player in the game today and he also plays on the most storied franchise in the media capital of the USA.

doubt it about pujols? the guy looks cro-magnum...
he is drinking 15 of those big papi milkshakes every day...

they made a big deal about Andy Pettitte, Roger Clemens & Jason Giambi too... i didn't hear the hub bub when Gary Sheffield admitted using "accidentally"... i didn't hear the media craze when Miguel Tejada got caught for lying to Congress about it... they made a big deal of ARod cuz he was a great player yes, but also a big part has to do w/him being a Yankee... if Derek Jeter got caught you'd never hear the end of it either... the only other players i've heard a big deal being made about his PED use has been Barry Bonds & Mark McGwire, & that's only because they broke the HR records.

.328 BA / 66 HR / 160 RBI / 1.174 OPS
i'll give u 1 guess who put up that statline... i'll give u a hint... it wasn't ARod or Pujols.
That's just part of playing in NY - you screw up, it's going to be magnified.

exactly, it's the media feeding the hype... Kobe got plenty of media coverage over his alleged rape accusation when that all went down... he's a big name playing in a big market... kinda curious to me why Manny didn't get as much play as ARod considering he plays in LA, but easily predictable when u consider how many Red Sox homers work at ESPN... that's why i say even if Pujols gets outed he won't get nearly as much play on it as ARod did even tho they're both the 2 best players of their era.

Manny got a pretty big load of press coverage for the roids...I actually think Manny was a bigger deal because he currently tested positive and was suspended, his name wasnt leaked in connection to the 2003 testing. A-Rod may have softened the blow to future players who are outed because he was the biggest name yet but I think others will still be dragged through the mud on ESPN. The thing is, it has been in the news so much that people are growing tired of it and it is no surprise when a big name is outed now.
I still think it is rediculous how many Yankees names have been leaked yet no Red Sox - you know Manny and Papi were juicing.
I don't care who took and who didn't at this point... I used to care a lot. What's the point now though. If you're willing to turn out like Chris Benoit so I can watch you hit a ball 450 feet, that's your prerogative
How long until we find out that Teixeira at one point tested positive? I start guilty til proven innocent with all these guys.

I pretty much assume that every guy in the league was using now, just not that everyone was caught. If Andy Pettite used, well who didn't? And clearly PEDs were prevalent in every major team sport too... its just that people care about baseball stats more than the other sports.
I played in a woodbat league WARL AAA (DC-NABA) at the end of college and figure I played 3 times a week at most and I was sore as hell all the time. I can only imagine 162 games daily throughout the course of the summer... at that point of my life had something that would help my recovery been made available, plus something that can help you put on extra weight (which you'll lose in 100 degree games in front of 50,000), at 21 or 22 I likely would have taken too
Damn, Sosa is the best example of steroids practically making a career. He wasnt shyt before the juice.
Anti-Yankee bias is to be expected. We are by far the most hated franchise in North America, and fans and the media are always ready to bare their fangs and expose their jealousy.
But the Mitchell Report really bothered me. It was a blatant cover up for the Sox, given Mitchell's Red Sox ties. Laugh @ Manny getting busted five minutes after he ditches the Sox.
Yanks have had quite a bit of Roid affiliation over the years.
The 1998 dream season is really quite story if you look close.
Even John Wettland might be accoused.
Think of the players past and present associated with the Roids! Aaron Boone?
I think Red Sawx just as guilty. Nomar in particular! Big Poppi shooting blanks these days.

the ESPN cover up of anything negative having to do w/the Red Sox is laughable... the Lou Merloni accusations that team officials were issuing Red Sox players w/instructions on how to cycle PED's effectively w/o getting caught got barely any play at all... if that were a Yankees' related story you'd have Congressional committees conducting investigations into the case by now.
espn hates all thing yankees. yanks break the record for consecutive games w/o an error and they said on baseball tonight that it's tough not to make errors when you don't have the range to get to balls. lol...

Its good marketing...they know that a majority of the viewers are anti-yankee, so they play to their biases. The Yankee fans who get outraged are similar to Liberals who watch Fox News.
Same thing with their anti-T.O slant. Just pandering to their base.

Exactly. ESPN hates the Yankees. They are an accurate reflection of our nation. Find me a TV channel that doesn't cater to its viewers.
