Cosmic that should have been your first move. No one is defending anyone's action but tact is something that you seem to lack.
JrZyHuStLa@ 6/25/2009 7:21 PM
That was pretty classless Cosmic.
Stevo718@ 6/25/2009 7:28 PM
Sad day... it tells you something about how popular and famous someone is when you get txt messages from friends saying that MJ is dead. RIP

Bonn1997, please, no. I don't believe in innocent until proven guilty when the person at question is a child molester!!! SICK PEOPLE LIKE CHILDREN LIKE THAT
props to cosmic for speaking the truth on this monster.

Well I hope for your sake that if you're ever falsely accused of child molestation, the jury doesn't use your own standard for judgment.

I read he swallowed his nose and went into cardiac arrest.
He is just a few years older than me and was incredible entertainer for so many years.
I kind of look at him (its hard) as a tragic person whose fame, talent, upbringing totally screwed him up. MJ the talent for so many years was amazing. MJ the person became a freak.
this guy got so lost in life and was totally thrown under the bus by his family to exploit his gift of music.
He became a sort of frankenstein, a monster freak created by his family.

Hard to feel like talkin about basketball my heart is heavy right now. For people of my generation Michael is an icon. I guess I am in the first wave of Jackson 5 fans. I actually felt my skin crawl as the news sunk in. R.I.P Michael Jackson.
oohah@ 6/25/2009 11:44 PM
Losing Micheal Jackson makes me feel old. I grew up listening to his music.
For all his money and fame I would not trade my life for his. He never had a childhood. He didn't really have a "life". The accusations against him notwithstanding, which I will reserve my judgment of, I think that the progression of his life drove him to eccentricity at the least.
***
He was an icon and one of the most talented performers of our times. If you have a chance watch a "Soul Train" from the 1980's. Everybody on the show dressed exactly like him and tried to dance like him. He was the ultimate trendsetter, performers are still fashioning themselves after him to this day.
Then go listen to how he sang as a child and then into a young man. I don't know if we'll ever see one like him again. It is a sad day.

Okay now for my tasteless side:
1) Nobody is more upset over Michael Jackson dying today than Farrah Fawcett!
2) So Michael Jackson gets 72 virgins now, is that how it works?
***
Too soon? Don't shoot!
oohah

For all that happened to him he was a true global icon, one of the most influential and widely popular entertainers of all time. An absolute historic figure.
He left us with just an amazing amount of hits. When someone like this passes it really does feel like the era has changed.

Orangeblob and cosmic. Grow up. If you don't have anything worthwhile to say, then don't say anything.
MJ was a hell of a musician. I grew up loving his stuff and my favorite song by him is "Give in to me" which Slash, my favorite guitarist, is in as well. You just can't knock his songwriting and his performance dancing (Although he did lipsink like a mofo.)
What he was like as a person? Only God can say. He was probably sick. He probably did have some fixation towards kids. Whether he did anythig sexual to them is beyond anyone of us. Hopefully not, but we can't make that judgement.
He was a child in an adults body and when he was a kid, he was an adult. It should have been the other way around, and it's sad, but that's in the past.
Prayers for him, his family, and may his music live on forever.

so because he made a bunch of songs that impressionable, misguided individuals somehow enjoyed, everyone needs to cry and be a bleeding heart about it?
come on. this isn't a respectable person, he's actually a detestable person. from his alleged child molestation to his ridiculous cosmetic procedures, this guy deserves not an ounce of respect.
and the thread title is 'mj dead', not 'mj dead, worship him here thread'.

ur free to ur opinion... seems to me those kids who allegedly were molested by MJ seemed pretty willing to accept million dollar payouts for their accusations, so who knows which ones were real & which were just bogus extortion attempts? all i know is this guy was a majorly talented entertainer, singer & dancer & there will never be another one like him... let's leave the other stuff for another thread... today is to pay tribute to a once great icon in entertainment.
GKFv2@ 6/26/2009 5:36 AM
Listen, I don't like the guy for what he did with kids and all that. He was also pretty weird. Soft ass voice and all those plastic surgeries. It is what it is.
The guy, as a musician, is one of the best of all-time. In the pop music industry, there is nobody better. He is the best and always be in that area of music. He really revolutionized music as a whole and he was a magnificent entertainer. The guy is a legend and it sucks he went and did what he did and that overshadowed a storied career. But the man died today and I think you should show some respect. If not for him as a person than for his music and what he provided to the world of music. There will never be another Michael Jackson.
Rest in Peace - King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

Pretty much any male who spends time with children is a risk--even if the time is just part of their job (like day care workers, teachers) or part of philanthropic work.
Nalod@ 6/26/2009 10:01 AM
MJ is like Howard Hughes. There are series of events and flaws that made him both a musical and dance genious as well as a personal tragedy.
Its a big news story. HE was the king of pop an for many years and was a generations "elvis" and then some.
A freak, a mental child, and accused molester. HE paid these kids very well and we might never know the truth. Certainly you don't have sleepovers with kids without supervision. The parents of these kids are really the crazy ones. You don't let your kids sleep over MJ house!!!!
Nalod sees this guy as a tragic victim of his family, talent, and himself.
sebstar@ 6/27/2009 11:15 AM
As far as the cats in here that are insistent on attacking Mike..
Its easier to believe that opportunistic parents viewed Michael's suspended adolescence and oddball behavior as a golden ticket to be exploited, then it is for me to believe that Michael Jackson raped and molested them. Michael was a gentle soul that was trying to recreate a magical childhood that he felt was snatched from him by his abusive daddy. He went about that in inappropriate ways that went to the left of what is acceptable in this culture. He is guilty of that, but raping children?
So help me out here. If you're a parent you are going to take a quick cash settlement and dip rather than seeing a dangerous pedophile, who viciously violated your child, prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and, consequentially, taken off the streets?
I dont know for sure what happened...I wasnt in the room and I cant say for sure. But neither were any of you, so fall back with all the disrespectful talk about Micheal. I loved him and his music and I, as well as others are taking his death very hard. MJ is the Greatest!
sebstar@ 6/27/2009 11:33 AM
MUSIC LOST IT'S SOUL 6/25/09. His music made the world that much greater.
Rest In Peace Michael Jackson "The King of Pop"...GOAT
The greatest entertainer the world has ever seen and one of my personal heroes...despite his many, well documented faults.
