let the circus begin. as a giants fan, i love it. put a huge distraction on a team that cant handle it. this will make to's distraction look like a walk in the beach. i am for vick having a second chance and there are certain teams that could handle it like pittsburgh, new england and even baltimore. but not the eagles. wait until mcnugget lose a game because he had three interceptions. you will hear the vick chants. not to mention the peta demonstrations on the road. this will indeed be interesting.
Yeah I dont really get why the Eagles wanted Vick unless they are down on DM. Either that or he is insurance for when Westbrook goes down with another injury, McNabb can just dump a pass off to Vick and he can run up the field - he would probably be better at that than QB. I think it will ultimately tear the team apart though.
Didn't McNabb just sign an extension?
I know this year they don't have many plans for Vick to be playing QB since they say he's not "in football shape" but next year there could be a pretty big circus on whose playing QB for them, hell even by the end of this year if the Eagles are struggling.
My sense is that while the Vick signing has ben played up in the media as controversial because of the dog fighting, the only issues we will see will be about him vs. McNabb. The whol PTEA thing has been overblown, I think people want to see Vick do well again and I think any team in the NFL could have handled the situation. Fans on the surface may say they care about the dog fighting but I think most would accept Vick with open arms.
This will not be a repeat of Pac Man, Vick has his stuff together. The question is can he still play?
This presents a great case study on career-age dynamics, will vick @ x years, off for y more, be able to achieve how much z of his (total = fit(fit' - fit'')?
