http://basketbawful.blogspot.com/2009/06...Anyone else reading these posts? Over the last month Matt McHale has been chronicling his freshman year from the early 90s. The story features a 7'1 roomate and a future NBA all star. In this boring summer stretch i highly recommend reading this. Its up to a 22 part series at this point. So you can read it over a few days. The author reminds me a bit of Bill Simmons.
Definitely check at least the first chapter out, and not just if you're a basketball fan but for anyone who ever had a college roomate they wanted to punch in the face but couldn't.
This is the first installment of a multi-part story about the first semester of my freshman year in college. During that semester, I lived with a member of the men's basketball team. That team was nationally ranked and featured a future NBA All-Star. Some of you already know where I went to school, others may suspect, and still others might figure it out over the course of this narrative. Nonetheless, I don't plan to divulge the name of the school, players or coaches involved. Other names might also be changed to protect the innocent.

Let me help you out
"The story features" comment can be broken up into "The story features (1) a 7'1 roomate and (2) a future NBA all star." this is why you should favor more public school funding

It's not clearly written. A hack wrote that. Who wrote it?
It is Glenn Robinson, but he's only marginally in the story and not the 7'1 roomie. In a later chapter the author recounts a pickup game with Glenn where he gets dunked on.
Good times.

Cool bro. Glad someone is enjoying it as much as I am. It's addictive isn't it? I was bummed he was too busy to post part 22 today. Its a really good story, i think a movie or even a reality show could be made from it. Sex, drugs, and basketball... and Bob Marley!! If a high schooler read this i'm sure he'd want to go to college!
The mystery player in question is named Mat ten Dam...scrub would be a compliment for him.
Nice peek into the life of a college baller. Even a worthless stiff that didnt do anything of consequence on the floor was swimming in fine puss. Damn.
The stories are great, but the writer in question is such an annoying goober. Had he been even remotely down these stories would have been a lot more interesting. Fool was playing Dungeons and Dragons on Saturday night and whining that Mat partied too much and had too many hoes. Wimped out even when girls were offered to him. You know how many kids would have died to be him?

Over the past 24 hours I read 1-22 and I'm pissed I have to wait to finish... really love that he didn't lie or diminish playing Dungeons and Dragons. His honesty about the levels of his nerdom makes all the crazy shit totally believable
