hey i figured that i will start the annual thread of posting our progress with nba 2k10 since i know a lot of you got it. well, i started the season with two games already and lost both of them, one i played ( miami) and one i didnt( charlotte). i found that i have not many go to players and al harrington misses in the clutch. i think i am going to spend this season trying to unload curry and jeffries and might sim the whole season to get to the real fun: summer of 2010. however, i do want to develop gallinari as well as hill and douglas so i might stick out the losing season to pad stats. my starting line up is this:
duhon ( leads in assist already)
chandler
gallinari ( though he is rated REALLY low)
harrington
lee
my leading scorer is nate rob at 18 ppg but that will change.
how is darko? and how low is gallo rated??

gallo is the lowest rated knick at 56. darko is rated only above the rookies and gallo. i just have to be patient with gallo and build his skills up. i managed to get to 3-3 and duhon is a great passer leading the league in assist. leading scorer now is al harrington. this game is a little harder so i had to bring down the level until i get used to playing and then i will bring it up later in the year.
If I had 2k10 I'd dump everyone outside Gallo, Chandler, Douglas, Hill for scrubs and picks and let those guy's ratings appreciate and then sign DWade or Joe Johnson + another(just to make the pieces fit).
I can't believe they gave Gallo a 56. You gotta start him at 68 at least. At least.
I put Curry on the trading block and the Thunder offered some dude named Kyle Weaver or something. Of course this would never happen in real life since Curry isn't worth a bag of chips. I'm thinking im going to offer Jeffries and a second round pick for the legend big game Jerome James who expires this season.
Also tried the "My Player" mode. Apparently the Knicks aren't fond of Gallo as they cut him on the third day of training camp in favor of Melvin Ely and Bruce Bowen.
Gallo is pretty automatic when left wide open. His 3 pointer rating is like 96 or something. Shot release isn't even close to his though, like last year they gave him Hedo Turkoglu's release.
also worth noting. if any of you play an exhibition game using the decades all star squad, ewing fans should rejoice. i played it and it looked so authentic down to his dunks and running style. he is also one of the highest ranked players in the game for some reason with a 95.

that is true that his three point shooting is very high. but everything else he sucks at including attacking the basket. i was also suprised that jordan hill's potential bar isnt high at all. so he has a pretty low ceiling i guess.
jazz, how much different is the 2k10 version than the 2k9 version? just updated rosters pretty much?

It's a different game on the court. It's more tactical than arcade style now. You can't abuse the turbo anymore and you basically have to run more plays. It takes getting used to but it's a good game. There's other nice features they added in the game. Oh and the graphics are even better than the last game. I would explain more but I'm about to pass out. I recommend the game. Read IGN.com's review of the game, it should give you all the info.
how is the franchise mode compared to last year's version? any features they took out or added?
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/103/1031...Another element that is tighter is the expanded crowd reactions to on-court action. Nail a clutch three and the crowd will erupt. If you're the visiting team and you take the lead, you'll hear groans or hear the audience go silent, which will frequently cause the arena announcers to try to get the crowd back in. Bring the game down to the wire and the intensity of the noise is palpable. The smallest downside with the presentation is that the cloth physics will pop in and flutter randomly during cutscenes and close-ups. But, overall 2K10 presents an experience that is closer to what you'd expect from watching a game on television, which is excellent.
Part of this is derived from a new feature that has been implemented within 2K10 called NBA Today, which integrates the latest news, trade info, stats and more to provide the commentary team with completely new conversational topics to cover during a game, making the trio of Harlan, Kellogg and Miller seem more natural and less canned than previous years. Think of it as a blend of Dynamic DNA from the NBA Live series and the 2K Living Rosters feature which is highlighted by the announcers. However, the NBA Today feature has a larger scope than simply refreshing splash graphics during a matchup; it's effectively been implemented across most of the other game features. Similar to the NBA Replay feature found in Sony's first-party game, NBA Today scans the NBA schedule of upcoming games and presents the best matchups for players to instantly leap into for a quick play match up. That means that if a team suddenly goes on a run during the regular season, you'll find their games popping up much more frequently in the quick play section than before. On top of this, the NBA Today feature provides an AI driven "insider" known as the 2K Insider (who looks like a cartoonish version of Stephen A. Smith), who provides blog info and commentary on the league. While much of the continual updates based on the real NBA season weren't fully possible to be evaluated, the past couple of pre-season games have been available to check out the quick play features, and playing through the Association highlighted glimpses of how the stats will play into this feature.
The Association has received a few cosmetic improvements, such as a new facelift for the home page of the mode. However, apart from the ability to customize your draft class and upload or download these via 2K Share, there aren't many massive changes to the feature formula. The largest, and perhaps most significant addition is the inclusion of the developmental league teams, allowing you to cultivate and prepare for your team's future with players that you can call up from these squads. Where the D-leagues play a larger role is within the largest new feature for 2K10, which is the My Player Mode, allowing players to create up and coming stars. After building a player, you engage in various drills and exhibition matches in the summer league and practice squads before hopefully joining a team, with your progress graded after each game. If your skills aren't actually up to par, you'll be sent down to the developmental leagues to build up your skills so you can contribute to your team in your given role.
Etc.
I'm still waiting for a proper franchise mode in an NBA game or even an NBA game that only features a franchise mode, like Championship Soccer Manager. Wouldn't managing a team be fun??

well, you kind of can. i have played a season where i did not play one game. i just sim the season and made trades.
well my team is 14-10 and second in the division though i was first for awhile. had some bad losses against portland and phoenix. harrington is avg. 24 ppg, lee is avg. 11 rpg and duhon avg 13 apg. decent season thus far but getting harder.
if anyone still has NBA 2K9 & wants all the updated rosters, i just uploaded a complete updated list on the 2K9 server for PS3... includes all this year's rooks, current rotations & a few other surprises

(btw, i got #23 on the 90s East team)
file is called "*NEW Updated Rosters* v.TMS"
2k10 ratings are way off.
2k9 ratings were much more realistic.
will post a new updated roster as soon as the trade deadline passes
newest updated rosters are uploaded on the PS3 network

yeah, i got the new roster. t-mac is the 6 man currently but you can change that around. he isnt rated very high which was expected. one thing i noticed playing with them is how small this team truly is with the trades. you almost HAVE to use curry ( key word is almost).cant wait to play them tomorrow for the nba today match up tho.
yup, i noticed the same... i'm actually using Jonathan Bender. LOL!
