I don't know how much that dress cost but there are dresses that could run you in the 10s of thousands.

they're not depicting the people that live on the Jersey Shore, they're depicting the meathead & guidette crowd that typically travels down to the Jersey Shore to hang out & party... all the people in the cast are from different surrounding areas, including my hometown Staten Island, & trust me bro, there are plenty of people like them from where i'm from & just about all of them typically go down to hang out at Seaside Heights & Belmar.
