What is so hard to understand here? What is wrong with these people? TURN THE CAR OFF.
-problem solved-
What are these people doing? TURN THE DAMN KEY TO OFF.
lol?
It can't just be me....
WTF?? These Toyota's are dangerous man. It is time to turn back to buying American. I always buy Ford SUVs because I never trust American cars, but now you cannot trust Japanese cars.

Japanese automakers are not innovators. They replicate existing efforts and improve upon them. As there has been very little innovation elsewhere, their process has remained the same and stagnate. Like anything, it is difficult to maintain a consistent standard. In this case, either you're improving or deteriorating and in this case the quality started to nosedive.

You cannot - when you not on parking or neutral you cannot turn the key. These new on/off buttons will not work also.
The breaks will not overrun the gas on this speed - this will be new safety requirements for new cars if they will approve it (not implemented yet in any cars).
You can use manual breaks but this can easily overtur the car on this speed.
You must be able to put it in neutral at least
Sadly, Japanese cars quality started going down hill when they started making a joint business venture with american companies. I think the Prius is being made by GM.
You can't turn off the key because the key just has to be in the car for the car to work! I've driven my friend's Prius and I keep the key in my pocket. I push the power button and the car starts. Put it into forward and it goes.
You can probably put the car into neutral as per John W above, but the person probably panicked.
it was a women driving. Probably got her high heel caught between the accelerator pedal and decided to blame the car
Bukkake failed in wrong place...

Sounds reasonable.
