In a way, this signing sort of undoes the Layden McKnee blunder from the draft some years ago. We had the #7 and then traded that, plus Camby for McKnee, which never worked out. We should've had Amare. Now we have him. Late, but better than never.

no way does it undo that blunder... we got the guy, yes, but he's now post 2 major surgeries & 8 years older... i'm happy with this signing but this in no way should be the highlight of the summer... there better be follow up moves in place, but for now i'll give Donnie the thumbs up for getting this first part of the plan done.

Oh absolutely. I just mean we never had that pick, because Laydummy screwed us on that one. Obviously, not having Amare for 7 years hurts, but at least we have him now.

I had heard that the 5th year is partially guaranteed with some games played incentive in year 4.
Seems to me that Amare is just comfortable in his skin and is acting like a man. Took in a broadway show he invested in and not a whole lot of fanfair like the others are doing.
Knicks are in a funny spot being the low man on the ranking but having the most money to spend.
The guy is only a year older than Dlee and a game maker player.
naturally one can find fault with him as most media will as they are paid to create controversy.
He is not Lebron, but this puts us on equal footing with anyone right now. Lebron can no play with Amare and Gallo. Amare had more points in the paint than anyone last year. Gallo is killing it from the outside. A slasher like Lebron or wade would look nice on this team.
Walsh is playing a good game here. Last week nobody was thinking we were in it.
NO lebron, no championship. But lets be real, with Jordan Hill and our pick next year, we are not championship caliber anyway.
