well, stephen a smith has been screaming it for a week now. and broussard has been saying so for a couple of days.

this really seems like a cowardly move for lebron. do the heat even have fans?

They will now. This really sucks for the league, I have to say.

stanleybostitch @ 7/8/2010 12:51 AM
Maybe he wants to get as far away from Ohio as possible. Coward.
VDesai @ 7/8/2010 12:51 AM
It doesnt make sense for him to have his own announcment show and those two guys sign today in the morning. I don't see how they let his ego trump theirs. Doesn't really add up in my mind.

Also the Heat need to move Beasley before they can give him the max. If they all take paycuts it would be one of the most shocking things I've ever heard.

Panos @ 7/8/2010 12:52 AM
Anyway, call it denial, I'm not believing it.
MaTT4281 @ 7/8/2010 12:53 AM
LeBron in Wade County?
I still refuse to believe it. Chalk it up to denial if you want, but we find out within 21 hours.

word is that lebron's people leaked the news early on purpose so bron could have the spotlight to himself thursday night. that would explain why broussard broke the story - his only source is maverick carter.

VDesai @ 7/8/2010 12:54 AM
In Miami they only care about the Dolphins
stanleybostitch @ 7/8/2010 12:54 AM
Here's the positive spin: everyone playing down the Knicks the last few weeks, based on erroneous reports, then we become the 'it' destination, cat out of the bag too soon, spoils the excitement of the moment of the announcement, so more erroneous reports aka cold shower so NYK can be the 'surprise' choice. Dunno, does anyone really think these things through to this extent? Not like we're playing chess here fellas!
Elite @ 7/8/2010 12:54 AM
if this is true, in one day i went from planning to buy a HD flatscreen to watch everysingle Knick game on to seriously considering not watching basketball at all.

It's not fair, there's no point in watching. Miami will win every year for 10 years

Uptown @ 7/8/2010 12:54 AM
So let me get this straight. We got supposed Knick officials telling Doughtry, and Rick Kamla, Lebron is in the bag. Then you got sources telling Broussard, SAS ans now Hahn that he's going to the Heat. Please tell me this the Knicks blowing smoke for tom's announcment...
VDesai @ 7/8/2010 12:55 AM
Its all smoke. I think this means that we should all go to sleep and wait for tommorow...

F that. I am grabbing a beer.

DrAlphaeus @ 7/8/2010 12:56 AM
I woke up thinking LeBron was going to Chicago.

Most of the waking day I became increasingly convinced that he was Gotham-bound.

Now I go to bed thinking he's going to Miami.

Who needs to spend $35 at Great Adventure? Weeeeeeee!

maybe bron will only win three in a row with them then go to NJ to win with Favors?

eViL @ 7/8/2010 12:56 AM
ooh ooh ooh. now i really gotta tune in. cha ching!
kam77 @ 7/8/2010 12:56 AM
Miami vs Orlando, all Florida Eastern Finals.

For the forseeable future.

Pharzeone @ 7/8/2010 12:57 AM
I blame myself for believing. I should have known. I should have.

Seriously, I was thinking abut finally finishing my basement and build a mini theater to watch the games theater style....Now, I guess I'll just leave the unfinished basement for the spiders and other unidentified insects......

crzymdups @ 7/8/2010 1:00 AM
okay, guys... damage control here and maybe complete cock-eyed optimism... but hahn is basically an employee of dolan... maybe they've asked him to post some misdirection?

maybe?

my heart hopes that's the case.

but my mind is telling me it's more likely that bucher's story was true and ESPN made him take it down so as not to ruin the "surprise".

fuck.

And each championship will be cheap. No legacy, no greatness in playing on an all-star team.
