so i landed the #2 pick in a 12 person office league so i guess i get the #14 & #17 picks also since it's a serpentine draft order... who do you guys recommend i pick up?

i'm thinking either Chris Johnson or Adrian Peterson with my #2 overall pick... then hoping for a top flight WR to fall to me in the 2nd round... any advice for who i should be holding out for later in the draft?

mattshaw78 @ 8/26/2010 6:20 AM
I think either RBs is good for 2nd pick. I think baring anything unusual you can get Ryan Matthews or Jahvid Best when it snake around.
mattshaw78 @ 8/26/2010 6:20 AM
What will I do as I am 11th Pick in a 12 team draft. I need help. The mock drafts I did, didn't look good.
GustavBahler @ 8/26/2010 6:58 AM
If you want a sleeper pick check out rookie wideout Mike Williams of the Bucs in your later rounds. Saw him in the preseason and he looks like he is going to be sick.

I had the same situation, #2 pick, ended up with AP (who I think will have a better year than Johnson), Brandon Marshall as my #1 wideout, and Steven Jackson as my # 2 RB, Tony Homo as my QB (QB's were going fast and I think after Romo there is a substantial drop off). My 3rd RB is Joseph Addai and my #2 WR is Crabtree. I may have to adjust my WR's and make a trade, but am very happy with my picks 1-5. Good luck.
TMS @ 8/27/2010 5:09 AM
thank you cacas... i'm hoping CJ falls to me at #2 but i'd be more than happy to take AP too... i was wrong, i'll be ending up with the #23 pick in the 2nd round... i figure by then guys like Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson & Larry Fitz will be off the board.

any reco's on whether i should take a 2nd RB or go for the top rated WR or QB w/my 2nd & 3rd round picks?

jusnice @ 8/27/2010 1:21 PM
Definitely take a top WR if they are there with your #2 pick b/c QB is deep and you will have a #1 RB already. Also, consider taking a top tight end early - Finley from GB should have WR like numbers and could offset your lineup if it is week at WR.
TMS @ 8/28/2010 4:11 AM
that's what i'm thinking too... a top flight RB & WR to form my nucleus, & hope to pick up a productive QB w/my 3rd round pick, unless there's a top flight arm out there for the taking at #23... but since my 3rd round pick will be #26 i figure i should have a decent talent pool to choose from.

appreciate all the tips brothers... i'll post up my final roster after the draft to get your input.

i like it.... good depth all around... you might be a tad thin at your starting receiving corps but you got a top rated QB to anchor the team... i was lucky to get the #2 pick so i got pick of the litter in the 1st round, but by the time my 2nd & 3rd round picks came up a lot of elite talent was gone off the board... i think i still made out nice w/DeSean Jackson & Matt Schaub tho, & i think i got a steal in Wes Welker in the 5th round... i play in a PPR league so i'm hoping he nets some good returns for me this year.

Your team is good too. With AP you really don't need another upper tier running back and can concentrate on the other positions. For me I think Derrick Mason will have a good year because everyone will be concentrating on boldin

debating whether to start Eddie Royal or Reggie Bush this week as my W/R slot starter.

DEN is at home vs. Seattle
NO is @ the 49ers

last week Royal had a nice catch total... Bush was pretty quiet, only scored me 5.5 points... i'm thinking Royal might be the better play... any advice?

OR should i start Nate Washington (TEN) at home vs. the Steelers? Bernard Berrian (MIN) at the Metrodome vs. Miami? Fred Taylor @ the Meadowlands vs. the J-E-T-S Jets defense?

TMS @ 9/17/2010 4:30 AM
Dropped:
Alex Smith, Bernard Berrian, Dustin Keller, Nate Burleson & Brian Westbrook

Added:
Kyle Orton, Mark Clayton, Todd Heap, Eddie Royal & Brandon Jackson

Starting Schaub, AP, B. Jax, D. Jax, Welker, Gates, Akers & Jets D so far... debating who to start as my flex option this week:

Cadillac Williams @ CAR
Reggie Bush vs. SF
Nate Washington vs. PIT
Eddie Royal vs. SEA
Mark Clayton @ OAK

I play in a PPR league. Any advice anyone?

funny, I have Cadillac, Bush, and Royal on my team...

depends on what you want... guaranteed points, but maybe not a huge point total I'd go with Williams

if you want a potentially huge point total I'd go with Royal...

can't really weigh in on the other guys

I just saw Royal is out of practice with a hamstring injury... I'd go with Cadillac

yeah i saw that too... i'm debating Caddy or Clayton at this point... i'm in a .5 PPR league & Clayton might get a ton of balls thrown his way again vs. Oakland if week 1 was any indicator... they had Bradford throwing 50 times... Caddy will get me points i agree, just not sure if Clayton might be a better bet for TD's vs. that OAK defense... CAR did a pretty good job shutting down the G-men running game last week.

decisions decisions

133 - 67 this week... i kicked some serious ass (shoulda started Clayton over Cadillac tho)

2 TDS so far for the Bucs Mike Williams in his first 2 games as a pro. Hopefully he can keep it going against Pittsburgh.

guy in my league offered me Matt Forte for Wes Welker. Thoughts?

I wouldn't TMS. Chicago's O-line is suspect, Brady to Welker, can't go wrong there. I'm surprised he came back from his injury as fast as he did. The guy has made it a habit of surprising people. He seems to be doing alright by you so far.
