To me its not about Kobe, Kobe shouldn't be punished. The league should say that they prefer not to see their players in commercials
firing automatic weapons, especially when a large part of the target audience of the advertiser are kids.

But video games are geared towards kids. Kobe is the last person to call out on this. Should there be no violent movies, shows, or video games? They have ratings. Rated r movies and mature rated video games. This is completely retarded.

I guess if I were 12 I'd say something like that in response. Its not about the game, its about the real gun he was holding. What part about that don't you get? I write that he shouldn't using a real automatic weapon to sell products to kids and you go off on a tangent about banning video games.

That's a great question. The difference is one is art (or supposed to be) the other is strictly commerce, aimed in large part at children. If Kobe made a movie for young kids where he was doing the same thing I would say the same thing. If he makes a film that's geared towards adults then I have no problem with it. He can go all rambo for all I care.

I see your point. But kobe holding a real gun and video games using weapons kinda leads to the same thing, no? If kids are smart enough to realize that one is a game and one is real life, cant they realize that they shouldnt use guns period?

Kids don't see Kobe playing a video game in that commercial they him holding an assault rifle. You are right violent video games might make kids more aggressive. Another reason why Kobe should have thought twice about making the commercial the way he did.

I understand that this isn't going to cause kids to run to their parents and ask for AKs for the holidays. And it doesn't tear down the barrier between video game fantasy and reality, but it does chip away at it.

Like I said in my first post, I like COD (I hate campers!). I don't have a problem with kids playing it if its ok with their parents. I do have a problem with any athlete with a large following of young people holding an assault rifle that's marketing a product in large part to young people.
