Thank God Arizona passed a law that prohibits this (At least in Arizona.) The Westburo Baptist Church was going to Picket the funeral of that 9 year old girl killed in that shooting because of an anti-gay cause. Not sure who is gay, but nonetheless, this is pure cruelty and they do not represent Christains the way they should be. I have said it before many times and I'll say it now: What the f&*k is wrong with people?

Damn right they passed a law:

picketing a 9 yo girl's funeral to promote some political cause? wow, is nothing sacred anymore? let the girl's family mourn in peace, for God's sakes! people are so twisted in their way of thinking these days.

Boy, we joked around about Karma when it comes to LeBron, but now this is for real. People who do this are going to end up getting it back in some way or another.

I think its despicable, I also think its a crime.

Privacy has totally been banished from our society and its getting ridiculous, just because the internet was invented does not give people the right to infringe on a families right to mourn in private.

I can't believe people would picket at a 9 year old girls funeral let alone a dead solider who happened to be gay. Its embarrassing for our country to have people that would do this sort of thing, don't people have any class?

if they picket it should be legal to use a crucifix to smack some fucking sense into these assholes
Nalod @ 1/12/2011 11:27 AM

Notihng more selfish than to protest your cause at the expense of someones pain.

so just FYI, this same group has been showing up at the funerals of soldiers who have passed in the Iraq and Afgan wars.

Incredibly awful and every other word you can think of.

These guys are the worst. Fred Phelps used to be a civil rights attorney way back too. It's just unconscionable. I'm glad they have groups like the angels and freedom riders to counter them. I remember one story where they picketted and the someone slashed their tires and noone in the town would service them out for hours untill they rolled it on to a sears. That brought a smile to my face.

I love how in life, your actions, words and even thoughts, make up who you are. So, if these people want to behave like aszholes - that is who they become. Some church that is , lol. Actually, I shouldn't even laugh out loud. That would be not nice of me.

yes, they have been doing this the past few years. i am all for making political statements and protesting but this is an ethical issue. you do NOT do it at someone's funeral. it is an emotional and personal time for the family. funerals are not social or political platforms. these people are crazy.

orangeblobman @ 1/21/2011 10:35 AM
Picketing funerals is bogus, man.
Allanfan20 @ 1/21/2011 11:37 AM
Not to turn this into a celebrity thread, but these are the same fuckers that picketed Ronnie Dio's funeral:
