i wish MDA had given AR a chance here. oh well. AR simply couldn't sell enough jerseys in his time here to get on the court.
Who gives a flip about AR and his couple of good games? This is what happens when you're on a team that isn't playing for anything and can just let you get out there and play regardless. We didn't have that luxury. It's not fair to the other players to have a kid out there messing up game after game, while they're trying to make the playoffs. Minny is 17-55 and has lost 5 games in a row. As bad as we've been at least we're still playing for something.
The thing is that AR may just not have been a good fit here with what we want to do. I think he's better in a more freewheeling style and not a very precise and technical offense that relies on players knowing what is going on and what they need to do.

Right..He can't play for winning teams like the Knicks, he can only play for losers...got it...

LOL
Do the players on this current roster know what they need to do? Because apparently it isn't the coach's fault and we're losing games rapidly. So who else needs an AR exodus on this squad?

drives us crazy for two reasons-
#1His "doghouses" (another sweet icon idea btw) are used on talented players and we don't get the sense behind the scenes that the player in question is being motivated, disciplined, and shaped to use our talent to the maximum capacity.
#2 What is "de - fence" and why does it keep our players from scoring in crunch time? Can we buy one of these fences? Does it affect the salary cap?
to be fair, if we'd fired Mike D'Atoni for not playing AR, Dolan still would have happily shipped Anthony Randoplh as part of the Melo package.
MDA is a stubborn old fool, but Dolan is just an idiot. So, it's really lose lose for Knicks fans.

I care. This kid not being in NY is totally on the coach who could not be bothered with him. He put up numbers before coming to NY, was coming back from an injury and was the youngest guy on the team by 2 years. If you don't think the Knicks couldn't use a guy playing like this or couldn't have gotten more from him in a trade if he was given a chance instead of shunned from the Milan game on then we disagree.
24 and 15 with 2 blocks tonight.
Even if his only job was to rebound and defend he would have helped us a lot this year. It's hard to see how

wouldn't have figured out a way to get him to do that.

The only way you can't figure out that he could help is if you are a horse's @ss. D'Antoni is so stubborn, and rigid. I wish Walsh didn't value loyalty as much has he does. He needs to sit D'Antoni down and lay into him. Walsh has protected him and gotten rid of guys that he wanted on the team and thought could help the team because D'Antoni wouldn't play them. He has nothing to show for his loyalty. The Knicks are going to finish below .500 again. The only things that can save them are making the playoffs and not having to swap picks with. Because the east is so bad the Knicks have to lose almost every game to not get the 8 seed and I don't know if the Rockets can get in in the west.

Had Randolph played more and had better numbers, he wouldn't have been included in the trade or may have but we would've probably kept another asset.
Anthony Randolph's Double-Double Not Enough As Wolves Lose To Thunder

Even without Kevin Love, the Minnesota Timberwolves have a consistent double-double threat in the starting lineup. Anthony Randolph, Love’s replacement for as long as the power forward is out with his groin injury, put up 24 points and 15 rebounds on Friday night.
Despite Randolph’s contributions, however, the Wolves were still defeated 111-103 as the Oklahoma City Thunder used a balanced attack to take out the Love-less Timberwolves.
The Wolves actually hung with the Thunder through three quarters, even pulling within 82-80 after trailing by 16, but the trio of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka proved to be too much.
The Wolves starters were fine as Michael Beasley scored 20, Darko Milicic had 16, Luke Ridnour had 12 and Wes Johnson scored 10 to go with Randolph’s game-high 24, but Minnesota’s bench mustered an inefficient 23 points on 21 shot attempts to keep the Wolves from winning.
The Thunder had seven players in double figures, led by Durant’s 23

This team is a fucking joke. Fuck the Knicks really. The kid has 27rbs in two games Jefferies doesn't have that in a month and yet he is always on the court.
Melo is not a superstar, not even close and we gave up our entire team and just tossed a 21 year old away. You just don't do things like this. We need a player like him, but can't get one. We just lost twice to the bucks, cavs, pacers and supposedly have two superstars.
He couldn't shoot a 3 and probably was useless standing at the 3 point line. MDA probaly realized it messed up the spacing for his shooters.

AR had the bad ankle, which has seemingly gotten better, but his head will always be his problem.
Funny thing about Minnesota- you look at some of their players, and see that guys like Beasley, Love, Ridnour, and even Darko have some decent numbers for all you armchair GMs out there, but then I take a look at their record and I see that they flat-out suck. Guys go ga-ga over Love, but his stats have a hollow ring to them if he can't his team out of the lottery.
Randolph fits in perfectly with this group, although there may not be enough balls to satisfy everyone on that team when everyone is healthy.

LOL. That is the truth. We sent them Darko and AR and both are putting up decent numbers but could not crack the rotation here. At some point, Walsh has got to see that MDA is a great offensive mind, but he is not a great NBA coach.

Big deal....it's just one bad game. It's not like this is his usual stat line or anything.

Yeah, I noticed that and will take my lumps. Looks like he got into foul trouble against a big front line. Still think we gave him away. 0-5 is not terrible, we've been seeing similar offensive efficiency from Stat for about 2 weeks now, minus the defensive EFFORT (ok, I'm exaggerating).
