Knicks · What does your "Knick"name mean? (page 1)

Nalod @ 4/8/2011 12:48 PM

Nalod is "dolan" backward. My first handle was "Nedyal" which of course was backward for Layden.

Why?

Cuz they get it backward! You suppose to build thru the draft then finish with free agents.

In a way thats what we are doing. A hybrid rebuild.

I know we did this a few years back but we have so many new names and those guys don't know the origin of ours.

Marv I know is a Marv Albert fan if I recall?

Papa? Misterearl? Fishmike? TMS? Etc..........

OrangageBlobMan, please explain this name. Its my favorite!

Allanfan20 @ 4/8/2011 12:56 PM
If you are a member of this site and don't understand what my name is, then you were probably either born yesterday or you are here purely to troll.... or both.

In all seriousness, Allan Houston was my guy all through high school and my early college days and before him, Patrick Ewing was equally my guy.

I picked two great athletes to be my favorites growing up, no shadow of doubt about that.

fishmike @ 4/8/2011 1:05 PM
at one point in my adolesence (which started at age 14 in 1987 and is still in progress today) there were 3 mikes (myself included) in my circle of friends. I was big into aquariums back then and have always had fish. Thus I was dubbed fishmike. Much better then psychomike and chickendick. I'm thinking my knick-name is the only one that stuck in that group
CashMoney @ 4/8/2011 1:10 PM
I use to live on the courts growing up and whenever I used to shoot the ball, people who were watching used to yell either Cash it or Money. I just put them together for CashMoney.
ionlyjoinedforthealba @ 4/8/2011 1:11 PM
My name is supposed to be "ionlyjoinedfortheamazinglylearnedbasketballanalysis" but it was too long, so I abbreviated it.
ActionJackson @ 4/8/2011 1:18 PM
I like Point Guards who are kinda chubby & slow but can pass like they have a third eye in the back of their head
cause they remind me of myself

nyk4ever @ 4/8/2011 1:19 PM
well my first choice was bippity10 but since that was already taken i had to figure something else out.

This needs to be proven/verified at the next UK Pick-Up Basketball game or else your username will be revoked

that last battle in BG was tough Took me 7 plays to actually win that final battle. Seravok/Koveras be damned but he could deal some serious damage and that archer with the explosive arrows was rippin'

MaTT4281 @ 4/8/2011 2:15 PM
It means I was 15 when I registered, hence the obnoxious caps and long random numbers that mean nothing.
EwingsGlass @ 4/8/2011 2:22 PM
My first Knick game at the Garden, Ewing hit an ugly shot from the wing off the glass to win the game.
dodger78 @ 4/8/2011 2:44 PM
Dodger was my favorite character from a Shadowrun book... loved that stuff back in the days!!!
Played Baldurs Gate for WEEKS too!!! Great great game!!!
Yeah I was/am a Nerd but I always had a good time and had a way with the ladies too so... whatever!!!

One of my happy moments when I went on a trip to the states was when I saw the new Star Wars Adidas collection (you dont get these in Germany)!!! Couldnt believe they put two of my personality threads together!!! Nerdism and HipHop/BBall!!!

skeng @ 4/8/2011 2:50 PM
mine is just the name I always use on the interwebz, it's also a song.
eViL @ 4/8/2011 2:54 PM
When I joined, I was rockin an east village t-shirt. It said "evil" across the front. Simple enough.
nixluva @ 4/8/2011 3:03 PM
Nixluva may seem obvious, but actually Nix was the name of my dog, an Airedale Terrier, that I bought to fill the emotional hole after my wife and I lost our 1st child back in 1988. I loved that dog and he did help to ease some of the pain. I spent hours training him and he was so obedient. I could instruct him to stay in the middle of Jamaica Park full of kids and walk out of the park, out of his sight and he wouldn't budge until I came back and gave him the command. Great dog. He did more for us than we did for him, tho he never knew it.
