Knicks · Team Unity Is A Beautiful Thing, Especially When Everyone Shaves Their Domes For The Playoffs (page 1)

Back in the day, Derek Harper, LJ, Childs, Chollie Ward all went for the bald look, even Allan Houston got a close cut. Spree, Camby and Ewing passed. They went to boot camp in Charleston and decided on the black kicks. Cool. How else does that shout bounce in down in Miami? The bald head did it.

An unreliable source has it that Spike Lee leaked the Knicks have agreed to wear orange socks. C'mon Son! Orange socks? With white shoes? Yeesh.

It takes a bold move to be bold. It has been ten years. If that is not enough reason for a fashion statement, what is? What should the move be?

OjilEye @ 4/11/2011 6:21 PM
Orange headbands.

Identical tweeting patterns on Twitter.

Knee-high socks.

Synchronized dance sequence during opening line-up announcements.

NYKBocker @ 4/11/2011 7:27 PM
I like the shaved head look. Amare probably won't do it.

i wanna see MDA shave his head. True loyalty to his players who commit on D.

KNICKSdom @ 4/11/2011 9:29 PM
All Mohawks is serious statement
Nalod @ 4/11/2011 9:51 PM
Don't they all shave their heads now?

orange socks with white shoes be "Team Creamsicle!"

Not quite the "orange crush" is it.

ramtour420 @ 4/11/2011 9:57 PM
Well, given how Miami was scared enough to play us in the 1st round that they felt like they absolutely had to blow out the Celtics , I don't think we even need the "creamsicle" look. I did like the bald look of the past teams tho !!!
crzymdups @ 4/11/2011 10:15 PM
Melo's been playing a lot better since he went to the green head band. I don't want to mess with his head band mojo. Even if he is wearing Celtics green for some reason...
PresIke @ 4/11/2011 10:22 PM
don't forget the black shoes, earl... :)

Carmelo gotta dump the green headband before the Boston series. Green initiatives or not. NBA Marketing campaigns can wait. As a matter of fact, nothing green should be worn by ANY Knicks player, employee or fan at any time for the entire month of April.

21 years ago a veteran lead guard Maurice Cheeks led the Knicks into Boston and we won the series.

Chauncey Billups is our ace in the hole. He will have his dome shaved clean as usual.

Everyone should wear a band aid over their left eye.

Great call.

Bill Walker needs to get with the program and dump the white laces on his Reeboks. The Knicks color palette on their basketball shoes is all over the place. Guys are wearing individual brands but also individual color combinations. Landry Fields has sometimes worn kicks that are primarily gray. Shawne Williams has his all orange joints. Mister Big Shot can wear whatever he wants. He mixes white shoes with black socks just to be a rebellious slave. On the other hand, wouldn't it be cool if everyone was on the same page?

Blue shoes with orange detailing at home and away would be perfect. Unfortunately, with all the new acquisitions that would have had to have been planned weeks ago by someone visionary enough to contact the shoe manufacturers.

Wait 'til next year?

Bill Walker needs to get with the program and put the blunts down, and get a damn haircut. He can still get high, but only with a basketball in his hand.

With a bald head Bill Walker would probably add 3 inches to his vertical.

Was Bill Walker spotted somewhere in the players parking area firing up before games?

How about some old school, Mason-style buzz lettering on the sides of the head... Now that we traded all of our Caucasians this should be no prob.

The artistry of Anthony Mason's barber shall forever be remembered as (cough) cutting edge.

Not to worry, Donnie (please stay) will sneak another Russian past customs over the Summer and Gallo will be back in time for the 2013 season.

I sincerely miss the cosmopolitan flava of the former roster, provided by the guys now playing in Denver and Minnesota (Anthony Randolph was born in Germany), but hey... you do what you gotta do.

Almost time to get the Bernard King Game Face down from the attic.

Where my blue and orange kicks at?

misterearl @ 4/12/2011 3:29 PM
"Stoudemire, Anthony and Billups will all sit Wednesday's season finale in Boston."

Amare will have had 11 days to heal his ankle and rest his aching knees. Fresh Amare.

Shift du Boston finale:

Toney Douglas
Bill Walker
Shawne Williams
Derrick Brown
Shelden Williams

ROFL, he might take issue with losing the dreads, but I'd tell him "IT'S THE PLAYOFFS MOFO, shave that shyte down!"

misterearl @ 4/12/2011 5:49 PM
Guys most unlikely to shave their heads

Rough Cuts
Renaldo Balkman, "rasta no pickpocket mon"
Ronny Turiaf, fear the beard
Landry Fields, fear the tan lines
Andy Rautins, the show must go on

On The Bubble
Bill Walker, a new look might help his rebounding
Shawne Williams, shining bright from the corner
Derrick Brown, will need his rebounding
Toney Douglas, the old man of the Knicks could handle the cut

Piece Of Cake
Anthony Carter, if he keeps his bald head in the game it is huge in the playoffs
Chauncey Billups, Mr Big Shot is already Mr Clean
Amare Stoudemire, the dome is back
Carmelo Anthony, fear the orange headband on the decisive post up moves

Hit the open man
